هدد نائب رئيس مجلس الأمن الروسي دميتري مدفيديف باستخدام الأسلحة النووية ضد أوكرانيا وبريطانيا وفرنسا، إذا تم نقل تكنولوجياتهم النووية إلى كييف، بحسب ما نقلت عنه وكالة «تاس» للأنباء.
وكان مدفيديف قال مطلع هذا الشهر إن الأسلحة النووية خطيرة للغاية ولكن إذا كان الأمر يتعلق بمصير الدولة الروسية فلا ينبغي الشك في أن موسكو ستستخدمها.
وأضاف أن روسيا تتصرف بموجب عقيدتها النووية التي تحدد متى يمكن استخدام الأسلحة النووية، وذلك في تعليقه بشأن احتمال توجيه ضربة ضد أوكرانيا. كما أكد أن «قوات الناتو ستكون أهدافاً مشروعة في حال نشرها على الأراضي الأوكرانية».
ولفت ميدفيديف إلى أن معاهدات الحد من التسلح لعبت دوراً حاسماً ليس فقط في الحد من عدد الرؤوس الحربية، بل ووسيلة للتحقق من النوايا وضمان بعض الثقة بين القوى النووية الكبرى.
وقال ميدفيديف إن دولاً أخرى ستحصل على أسلحة نووية في السنوات القادمة، وأنحى باللائمة على الغرب في دفع العالم نحو حرب عالمية ثالثة، حرب بالوكالة على روسيا في أوكرانيا.
وفي منشور له عن معاهدة «نيو ستارت» لنزع الأسلحة النووية، التي وقعها مع الرئيس الأمريكي آنذاك باراك أوباما في براغ عام 2010، حذر ميدفيديف، وهو الرئيس الروسي السابق بين عامي 2008 و2012، من أن خطر نشوب صراع نووي بلغ أعلى مستوياته على الإطلاق. ومن المقرر أن تنتهي المعاهدة في فبراير 2026.
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, threatened to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, Britain, and France if their nuclear technologies were transferred to Kyiv, according to the news agency “TASS.”
Medvedev stated earlier this month that nuclear weapons are extremely dangerous, but if it concerns the fate of the Russian state, there should be no doubt that Moscow would use them.
He added that Russia acts according to its nuclear doctrine, which defines when nuclear weapons can be used, commenting on the possibility of striking Ukraine. He also confirmed that “NATO forces would be legitimate targets if deployed on Ukrainian territory.”
Medvedev pointed out that arms control treaties have played a crucial role not only in reducing the number of warheads but also as a means to verify intentions and ensure some trust among major nuclear powers.
He stated that other countries will acquire nuclear weapons in the coming years and blamed the West for pushing the world towards a third world war, a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
In a post about the “New START” nuclear disarmament treaty, which he signed with then-President Barack Obama in Prague in 2010, Medvedev, who was the Russian president from 2008 to 2012, warned that the risk of a nuclear conflict has reached its highest level ever. The treaty is set to expire in February 2026.
