في إحدى المشاركات الأدبية -في دولة عربية- كان عنوان المشاركة (المركز والأطراف في الثقافة العربية)، فوجدتها فرصة لأن أعيد حواراً (على هامش ذلك المهرجان) دار بين عدد من المشاركين في المهرجان، وكنت اعتبر أديباً من دول الأطراف، وغالباً كان يقال إن دولتنا تمثّل الرجعية، وكان المتحدث أحد أدباء دول المركز، نظام الحكم في دولته جمهوري يمثله العسكر، وبعد أن زاد وأفاض عن الرجعية ونظام الحكم الوراثي، طلبت منه أن أتحدث عن أنظمة الحكم في العالم، وذكرت له أكثر من عشر دول نظام حكمها وراثياً ملكياً تنتقل فيه السلطة بيسر وسهولة من غير ثورات وقلقلة البلاد، وذكرت له عشرات الأنظمة الجمهورية التي جاءت من خلال الانقلاب والثورات، وطلبت منه المقارنة بين استقرار تلك الدول ونموها.
أغلب الدول الجمهورية العسكرية فاشلة، وقد دمرت مكتسبات دولها، أما عن الرجعية فمن يحمل لواء التنوير فهي الدول التي كان يطلق عليها الدول الرجعية، وقد أثبت الواقع أن الشعارات القديمة سقطت، وأن مفهوم دول المركز والأطراف تغيّرت تماماً، حتى أن دول المركز سقطت وأصبحت دولاً تتصف سياسياً بأنها دول فاشلة (وكلمة دولة فاشلة لها معانٍ كثيرة أهمها أنها دولة عاجزة عن النهوض)، وأن ما كان يطلق عليها دول الأطراف غدت دولاً حاملة لواء النمو والحداثة معاً، ومواطنوها يعيشون في رغد العيش.
لماذا أتذكر ما حدث سابقاً في زمن مفهوم المركز والأطراف؟ حدث ذلك حينما استمعت لكلمة المخرج السعودي عبدالله المحيسن حينما تم تكريمه في مهرجان (مالمو) السينمائي في السويد في دورته الـ16، والتكريم جاء تتويجاً لمسيرته السينمائية المبكرة. وحين تحدّث المخرج عبدالله المحيسن في تكريمه السينمائي، وصفت مقولاته الواقع وما حدث في المملكة من الاستفادة من التجارب العربية وتلافي أخطاء تلك الدول، وأثبتت أن المملكة وانتقالها السياسي منذ عهد الملك عبدالعزيز، وصولاً إلى الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز وولي عهده وصلت إلى الرؤية المستقبلية للدولة، واستطاعت نقل المجتمع في مأمن رغم المتغيّرات السياسية الكبيرة، واستطاعت نقل المجتمع ضمن دائرة النمو والارتقاء، ذاكراً أنه كان شاهداً لتجمع الخبراء من جميع الدول العالمية للاستفادة من خبراتهم؛ كي تكون المملكة ضمن الدول المتقدّمة في الجانب التقني، حتى أنها خصّصت هذا العام لأن يكون عام الذكاء الاصطناعي. وقال المخرج عبدالله المحيسن الكثير عما فعلته الدولة ضمن رؤية 2030 بقيادة الأمير محمد بن سلمان؛ لكي تكون المملكة في مقدّمة دول العالم.
قوله ذكّرني بما بدأت به المقال، وهي حقيقة يعززها الواقع.. الآن ثُبُتَ أن المملكة هي مركز العالم العربي، بل هي مركز عالمي يسعى الجميع لأن يكون شريكاً مع بلادنا في المشاريع الضخمة في جميع مستويات المعيشة والتقنية العالمية.
ولا أشك أن مفهوم المراكز الثقافية العربية سقط واقعاً، وغدت السعودية مركزاً ثقافيّاً واقتصاديّاً وتقنيّاً.
In one of the literary contributions – in an Arab country – the title of the contribution was (The Center and the Peripheries in Arab Culture). I found it an opportunity to revisit a dialogue (on the sidelines of that festival) that took place among several participants in the festival. I considered myself a writer from the peripheries, and it was often said that our country represented backwardness. The speaker was one of the writers from the center countries, and his country’s system of governance is a republic represented by the military. After he elaborated on backwardness and hereditary rule, I asked him if I could talk about governance systems in the world. I mentioned more than ten countries with hereditary royal governance systems where power transitions smoothly and easily without revolutions and turmoil, and I cited dozens of republican systems that came through coups and revolutions. I asked him to compare the stability and growth of those countries.
Most military republics are failures and have destroyed their countries’ gains. As for backwardness, those who carry the banner of enlightenment are the countries that were referred to as backward countries. Reality has proven that old slogans have fallen, and the concept of center and peripheries has completely changed, to the extent that center countries have collapsed and are now politically described as failed states (and the term failed state has many meanings, the most important of which is that it is a state incapable of rising). What was referred to as peripheral countries has become countries carrying the banner of growth and modernity together, and their citizens live in prosperity.
Why do I remember what happened previously in the era of the center and peripheries concept? This happened when I listened to the words of Saudi director Abdullah Al-Muhaisen when he was honored at the 16th (Malmö) Film Festival in Sweden, and the honor came as a culmination of his early cinematic career. When director Abdullah Al-Muhaisen spoke during his cinematic honor, his statements described the reality and what happened in the Kingdom regarding benefiting from Arab experiences and avoiding the mistakes of those countries. He proved that the Kingdom, with its political transition since the era of King Abdulaziz, reaching to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, has reached the future vision of the state, managing to move society to safety despite the significant political changes, and successfully advancing society within a circle of growth and elevation. He mentioned that he witnessed a gathering of experts from all over the world to benefit from their experiences so that the Kingdom would be among the advanced countries in the technical field, to the extent that this year has been designated as the Year of Artificial Intelligence. Director Abdullah Al-Muhaisen spoke extensively about what the state has done under Vision 2030, led by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to position the Kingdom at the forefront of the world’s countries.
His words reminded me of what I began with in the article, a truth reinforced by reality… It is now established that the Kingdom is the center of the Arab world; in fact, it is a global center that everyone seeks to partner with our country in major projects across all levels of living and global technology.
I have no doubt that the concept of Arab cultural centers has fallen in reality, and Saudi Arabia has become a cultural, economic, and technical center.
