من أجمل الأخبار التي هلّت علينا مؤخراً، الإعلان عن تدشين مؤسسة الأمير خالد الفيصل الثقافية والمجالات التي ستهتم بها وترعاها، وذلك ما لقي ترحيباً كبيراً واستحساناً بالغاً لدى الجميع، وليس فقط من عرفوا هذا الرمز كونه مثقفاً متميزاً وراعياً للثقافة، فهو بالإضافة إلى ذلك تأريخ ساطع لمعنى الوطنية والمسؤولية في بناء الوعي، والشجاعة في مواجهة الفكر المضلّل والمفاهيم الفاسدة التي كانت تتدثر زيفاً بالإصلاح.
كنا ننتظر هذه المبادرة لتخرج إلى النور والأمير خالد الفيصل ما زال بيننا، وليس كما اعتدنا على الاحتفاء بالرموز بعد رحيلهم. كنا نتوق إلى أن يشعر، أطال الله عمره، بمعنى الوفاء والتقدير لمنجزه الضخم، وحرصنا على استدامته ليبقى خالداً كاسمه، ويتحول إلى عمل مؤسسي يستلهم أفكاره ويستنير بها في رعاية أجيال المثقفين والمبدعين، وقد تحقق ما كنا نتمناه نتيجة وعي وحرص أنجاله على ذلك، ليضيفوا إلى ساحة الثقافة العربية رافداً مهماً تمثله هذه المؤسسة التي ستكون لائقة بالاسم الذي تحمله.
كانت الثقافة بشمولية مفاهيمها وغاياتها النبيلة في صلب اهتمام الأمير خالد كحاكم إداري ورمز كبير من رموز الدولة في الإدارة. لم تكن اهتماماً ثانوياً أو شخصياً بالنسبة له، بل فلسفة عميقة وقناعة راسخة بأن تنمية الإنسان فكرياً هي أساس ومنطلق التطور للمجتمع، وحماية الوطن وضمان استقراره في مواجهة الاستلاب الفكري والتدجين الثقافي وتشويه الهوية. هو الذي انبرى بفروسية نادرة وامتشق سلاح الوعي الحقيقي لمواجهة اختطاف المجتمع فكرياً في زمن صعب، وهي مهمة لا يتصدى لها سوى الفرسان الحقيقيين المؤمنين بحتمية دورهم وواجبهم الوطني. كثيرون هم المسؤولون المثقفون، لكن القليل منهم الذين يوظفون الثقافة في مسؤولياتهم كأداة أساسية وفاعلة ومؤثرة كما فعل خالد الفيصل، ولهذا يكون منطقياً جداً أن يقترن تأريخ خالد الفيصل الإداري بتأريخه الثقافي.
المجال هنا لا يتسع لحصر إنجازاته الجليلة في مجال الفكر والثقافة، ولعل من أبرزها مؤسسة الفكر العربي، التي أصبحت منارة يعمّ شعاعها كل أنحاء الوطن العربي، بفضل رعايته لها وحرصه الشديد على أن تتطور باستمرار كي تواكب مستجدات القضايا الفكرية العربية كمؤسسة رائدة اكتسبت التقدير والاحترام داخل وخارج الوطن العربي.
سوف تحفظ الذاكرة الوطنية كل الإنجازات الاستثنائية التي حققها خالد الفيصل كشخصية نادرة في فن وعلم الإدارة، وأيضاً سوف تنقش اسمه بحروف من إجلال واعتزاز نظير احتفائه بالفكر والثقافة وخدمته لها. وهنا لا بد من تسجيل الشكر والامتنان لكل الذين عملوا على تحويل فكرة مؤسسة خالد الفيصل الثقافية إلى مشروع ثقافي عملي يمثل صرحاً جديداً يليق باسم كبير وخالد.
One of the most beautiful pieces of news that has recently graced us is the announcement of the launch of the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Cultural Foundation and the fields it will focus on and nurture. This has received a warm welcome and great appreciation from everyone, not just those who recognized this symbol as a distinguished intellectual and a patron of culture. In addition to that, he embodies a bright history of the meaning of patriotism and responsibility in building awareness, and the courage to confront misleading ideas and corrupt concepts that were falsely cloaked in the guise of reform.
We were waiting for this initiative to come to light while Prince Khalid Al-Faisal is still among us, rather than the usual practice of celebrating symbols after their departure. We longed for him, may God prolong his life, to feel the meaning of loyalty and appreciation for his monumental achievement, and we were keen on its sustainability so that it remains eternal like his name, transforming into an institutional work that draws inspiration from his ideas and enlightens the nurturing of generations of intellectuals and creatives. What we wished for has been realized as a result of the awareness and diligence of his children, adding an important tributary to the arena of Arab culture represented by this foundation, which will be worthy of the name it carries.
Culture, with its comprehensive concepts and noble goals, was at the core of Prince Khalid’s interest as an administrative ruler and a prominent symbol of the state in governance. It was not a secondary or personal concern for him, but rather a deep philosophy and a firm conviction that the intellectual development of individuals is the foundation and starting point for societal progress, protecting the homeland and ensuring its stability in the face of intellectual alienation, cultural domestication, and identity distortion. He was the one who gallantly took up the rare challenge and wielded the weapon of true awareness to confront the intellectual hijacking of society in a difficult time, a task that only true knights who believe in the inevitability of their role and national duty can undertake. Many are the cultured officials, but few are those who employ culture in their responsibilities as a fundamental, effective, and influential tool as Khalid Al-Faisal did, which makes it very logical for Khalid Al-Faisal’s administrative history to be intertwined with his cultural history.
The space here does not allow for a comprehensive enumeration of his magnificent achievements in the field of thought and culture, perhaps one of the most prominent being the Arab Thought Foundation, which has become a beacon whose light spreads across the Arab world, thanks to his patronage and his strong commitment to its continuous development to keep pace with the evolving issues of Arab intellectual thought as a pioneering institution that has gained respect and admiration both within and outside the Arab world.
The national memory will preserve all the extraordinary achievements that Khalid Al-Faisal has accomplished as a rare figure in the art and science of administration, and his name will also be etched in letters of reverence and pride for his celebration of thought and culture and his service to them. Here, it is essential to express gratitude and appreciation to all those who worked to transform the idea of the Khalid Al-Faisal Cultural Foundation into a practical cultural project that represents a new edifice worthy of a great and eternal name.
