بعد قرون من الغموض والأساطير التي أحاطت بحضارة الإنكا، خرج اكتشاف أثري مذهل من أعماق غابات الأمازون ليحبس أنفاس العالم، بعدما أعلن علماء الآثار في البيرو العثور على قبر مفقود عمره نحو 600 عام، في منطقة يصفها المؤرخون بأنها «ماتشو بيتشو المخفية».
لم يكن الاكتشاف عادياً بالمرة، حيث عثر فريق التنقيب وسط الغطاء النباتي الكثيف والمستنقعات على هيكل جنائزي حجري ضخم بُني على شكل حدوة حصان قرب حصن «كويلاب» التاريخي الغامض.
رفات طفل وقرابين و«رأس بشري منحوت»
لكن المفاجأة الأكبر والصادمة كانت تنتظر العلماء بمجرد فتح باب القبر المظلم، حيث عثروا على:
- بقايا بشرية: رفات 5 أشخاص من حضارة الإنكا بين جثامينهم جثة طفل صغير.
- قطع طقسية: خزفيات نادرة تمثل نباتات وثماراً، وأدوات حجرية، وملاقط معدنية، وأصدافاً بحرية دُفنت كقرابين.
- القطعة الغامضة: قطعة عظمية صغيرة نُحتت بعناية فائقة على شكل «رأس إنسان»، يعتقد الباحثون أنها تحمل رموزاً روحية ترتبط بطقوس الموت والحياة لديهم.
المثير للدهشة أن المنطقة التي شهدت الكشف الأثري تقع على ارتفاع شاهق يتجاوز 3 آلاف متر وسط أدغال كثيفة، ولم تخضع سابقاً لأي تنقيب أثري منظم.
ودفع هذا الأمر خبراء الآثار للاعتقاد بأن الغابات المحيطة بحصن «كويلاب» (أو ماتشو بيتشو المنسية) قد تبتلع تحت أشجارها العملاقة مدناً كاملة ومقابر ملكية لم تكتشف بعد، لتفتح هذه المقبرة الباب مجدداً أمام لغز الكنوز المفقودة لإمبراطورية الإنكا التي اختفت في صمت مرعب.
After centuries of mystery and legends surrounding the Inca civilization, a stunning archaeological discovery emerged from the depths of the Amazon rainforest, captivating the world, as archaeologists in Peru announced the finding of a missing tomb that is approximately 600 years old, in an area described by historians as the “hidden Machu Picchu.”
The discovery was anything but ordinary, as the excavation team found a massive stone funerary structure built in the shape of a horseshoe amidst the dense vegetation and swamps near the mysterious historic fortress of “Kuélap.”
Remains of a Child, Offerings, and a “Carved Human Head”
But the biggest and most shocking surprise awaited the scientists as soon as they opened the door to the dark tomb, where they found:
- Human remains: the remains of 5 individuals from the Inca civilization, among whom was the body of a small child.
- Ceremonial items: rare pottery representing plants and fruits, stone tools, metal tweezers, and seashells buried as offerings.
- The mysterious piece: a small bone carved with extreme precision in the shape of a “human head,” which researchers believe carries spiritual symbols related to their rituals of death and life.
Interestingly, the area where the archaeological discovery took place is at a high altitude exceeding 3,000 meters amidst dense jungles, and it had not previously undergone any organized archaeological excavation.
This led experts in archaeology to believe that the forests surrounding the fortress of “Kuélap” (or the forgotten Machu Picchu) may conceal entire cities and royal tombs yet to be discovered beneath their giant trees, reopening the door to the mystery of the lost treasures of the Inca Empire that vanished in terrifying silence.
