في ليلة ليلاء تحولت فيها أعماق الأرض إلى مصيدة موت جماعي، استيقظت الصين على وقع واحدة من أكثر كوارث المناجم دموية وفجيعة خلال العقد الأخير، بعدما قفزت حصيلة ضحايا انفجار منجم الفحم المنكوب في إقليم شانشي لعام 2026 إلى 90 قتيلاً، وسط غيوم سوداء ومخاوف من العثور على مزيد من الجثث بين الأنفاق المنهارة والغازات السامة.
وقعت الكارثة داخل منجم «ليوشينيو» في ساعة متأخرة، حين دوّى انفجار غازي مباغت ومرعب بينما كان مئات العمال يغوصون في أحشاء الأرض، لتتحول الممرات الضيقة إلى جحيم مستعر من الاختناق والأنقاض.
الموت الصامت.. أول أكسيد الكربون يخنق 90 عاملاً
لحظة وقوع الكارثة، كان هناك 247 عاملاً يصارعون الموت تحت الأرض، ورغم نجاح فرق الإنقاذ في سحب أكثر من 200 عامل، إلا أن البقية وقعوا في فخ «الموت الصامت»:
- الغاز القاتل: حوصر الضحايا وسط مستويات قاتلة من غاز أول أكسيد الكربون (الغاز عديم الرائحة واللون الذي يسرق الروح في دقائق).
- إهمال مرصود: كشفت التحقيقات أن أجهزة القياس سجلت ارتفاعاً خطيراً في مستويات الغاز قبل الانفجار، مما يشير إلى وجود ثغرة أو إهمال بشري قاتل.
ودفع حجم الكارثة الإنسانية الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ لإصدار أوامر عاجلة ومشددة بـ«عدم ادخار أي جهد» لانتشال الجثث وعلاج المصابين، ومحاسبة المسؤولين بلا رحمة. وبناءً عليه، اعتقلت السلطات بشكل فوري المسؤولين التنفيذيين في الشركة المشغلة للمنجم لامتصاص الغضب الشعبي المتصاعد.
وتعد مقاطعة شانشي القلب النابض لصناعة الفحم في الصين، وأكبر مستهلك لهذه الطاقة عالمياً، لكن هذا التاج الاقتصادي تلطخه دائماً دماء الكوارث وانهيارات الأنفاق وضعف إجراءات السلامة. ومع استمرار الحفر وسط الدخان الكثيف، تحول المنجم المنكوب إلى قضية رأي عام عالمية تنتظر ما ستسفر عنه التحقيقات الطارئة.
On a dark night when the depths of the earth turned into a trap for mass death, China awoke to one of the bloodiest and most tragic mining disasters in the last decade, as the death toll from the explosion at the ill-fated coal mine in Shanxi Province in 2026 soared to 90, amid black clouds and fears of finding more bodies among the collapsed tunnels and toxic gases.
The disaster occurred inside the “Liushiniu” mine late at night, when a sudden and terrifying gas explosion echoed while hundreds of workers were diving into the bowels of the earth, turning the narrow corridors into a raging hell of suffocation and debris.
The Silent Death.. Carbon Monoxide Suffocates 90 Workers
At the moment of the disaster, there were 247 workers battling death underground, and although rescue teams succeeded in pulling out more than 200 workers, the rest fell into the trap of “silent death”:
- The deadly gas: The victims were trapped amid lethal levels of carbon monoxide (the odorless and colorless gas that steals the soul in minutes).
- Documented negligence: Investigations revealed that measuring devices recorded a dangerous rise in gas levels before the explosion, indicating a fatal gap or human negligence.
The scale of the humanitarian disaster prompted Chinese President Xi Jinping to issue urgent and strict orders to “spare no effort” in recovering the bodies and treating the injured, and to hold the responsible parties accountable without mercy. Consequently, authorities immediately arrested the executives of the company operating the mine to absorb the rising public anger.
Shanxi Province is the beating heart of the coal industry in China and the largest consumer of this energy globally, but this economic crown is always stained with the blood of disasters, tunnel collapses, and weak safety measures. As the digging continued amid the thick smoke, the stricken mine turned into a global public opinion issue awaiting the results of the urgent investigations.
