تقدم المنتخب السويسري أولاً، وفرض سيطرته الميدانية، لكن «العنابي» انتفض في الوقت بدل الضائع، وسجل هدف التعادل برأسية «خوخي بوعلام» في الدقيقة 90+5.
وتفاعل الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم مع اللحظة التاريخية بتغريدة في حسابه الرسمي وقال: «يسلم راسك يا بو علام»، في إشارة للهدف الأول لقطر بتاريخ المونديال.
وبهذه النقطة افتتح المنتخب القطري رصيده، قبل مواجهة كندا الجمعة 19 يونيو في تمام الـ1:00 صباحاً بتوقيت السعودية.
