فيما أكدت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية إجراءه اتصالاً هاتفياً برئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، جدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تأكيده أن إيران لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً أبداً، وأن مضيق هرمز سيُفتح أمام حركة التجارة قريباً جداً.
ووصف ترمب، على منصته «تروث سوشال»، اتفاق الرئيس الأمريكي السابق بـ«الأغبى»، معتبراً أنه كان طريقاً يؤدي إلى امتلاك إيران سلاحاً نووياً، مع الأموال وكل شيء، موضحاً أن اتفاقه مع إيران يمثل جداراً يمنع طهران من امتلاك سلاح نووي إلى الأبد، وهو النقيض الكامل لاتفاق أوباما.
من جهة أخرى، ذكرت القناة الـ12 الإسرائيلية أن الرئيس ترمب أطلع نتنياهو، خلال اتصال هاتفي، على آخر المستجدات بشأن توقيع الاتفاق مع إيران.
وفي الوقت ذاته، نقلت شبكة «سي إن إن» عن مصدر إسرائيلي قوله إن رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو يسعى لعقد اجتماع عاجل مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بعد قمة مجموعة السبع، موضحاً أن نتنياهو يحاول عقد الاجتماع لتوضيح موقف إسرائيل من المفاوضات الجارية.
وأفاد المصدر بأن إسرائيل تخشى أن يؤدي الاتفاق المرتقب بين واشنطن وطهران إلى تخفيف الضغط الاقتصادي على إيران دون المساس ببرنامجها النووي.
وكان ترمب قد قال لشبكة «فوكس نيوز» إنه سيطلب من إيران عدم قصف إسرائيل رداً على قصف الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت، موضحاً أن الهجوم الإسرائيلي الأخير على بيروت كان من الممكن تجنبه، لا سيما في «يوم مميز» بينما كان التوصل إلى اتفاق مع إيران وشيكاً.

Trump described the previous U.S. president’s agreement as “the dumbest,” considering it a pathway to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, along with the money and everything else. He clarified that his agreement with Iran represents a wall preventing Tehran from ever obtaining nuclear weapons, which is the complete opposite of the Obama agreement.
On another note, Channel 12 in Israel reported that President Trump briefed Netanyahu during a phone call on the latest developments regarding the signing of the agreement with Iran.
At the same time, CNN reported from an Israeli source that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to hold an urgent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump after the G7 summit, explaining that Netanyahu is trying to arrange the meeting to clarify Israel’s position on the ongoing negotiations.
The source indicated that Israel fears the anticipated agreement between Washington and Tehran could ease economic pressure on Iran without affecting its nuclear program.
Trump had told Fox News that he would ask Iran not to strike Israel in response to the bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut, explaining that the recent Israeli attack on Beirut could have been avoided, especially on a “special day” when an agreement with Iran was imminent.
