أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الإثنين) أن مضيق هرمز سيُفتح بشكل كامل (الجمعة)، مجدداً تأكيده أن إيران «لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً»، وأنها وافقت على ذلك.
ووصف ترمب خلال لقائه نظيره الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون مسألة عدم امتلاك إيران سلاحاً نووياً بـ«جوهر النزاع»، مبيناً أن الاتفاق مع إيران سيعود بالنفع على منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
وأشار إلى أن الولايات المتحدة وقّعت مذكرة تفاهم مع طهران، وأن مضيق هرمز فُتح جزئياً، موضحاً أن المضيق سيُفتح بشكل كامل (الجمعة).
وأكد أنه يريد نشر مذكرة التفاهم مع إيران «لأنها وثيقة مهمة وقوية»، على أن تُنشر قريباً.
وأضاف ترمب: «نريد علاقات طيبة مع إيران، وإذا لم يتحقق ذلك فسنعود إلى الحرب، وآمل ألا يحدث ذلك».
من جهته، قال الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون (الإثنين) إن مذكرة التفاهم التي وقعتها الولايات المتحدة وإيران لإنهاء حربهما التي استمرت ٤ أشهر خطوة بالغة الأهمية وستسمح بإعادة فتح مضيق هرمز، مضيفاً: «هذه خطوة مهمة للغاية من أجل السلام».
ونقلت وكالة «رويترز» عن مسؤول أمريكي قوله إن مضيق هرمز سيظل مفتوحاً دون رسوم لمدة ٦٠ يوماً بموجب الاتفاق بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، مضيفاً: واشنطن تتوقع أن يكون المرور المجاني في مضيق هرمز جزءاً من الاتفاق النهائي أيضاً.
وذكر مسؤول أمريكي كبير للوكالة أن انسحاب إسرائيل من لبنان ليس شرطاً لإتمام الاتفاق مع إيران، مشيراً إلى أن تل أبيب سيكون لها الحق في الدفاع عن نفسها ضد هجمات جماعة «حزب الله».
وأضاف المسؤول أن «ما تفهمه واشنطن هو أن رئيس البرلمان الإيراني محمد باقر قاليباف مخوّل من قبل المرشد مجتبى خامنئي للتوقيع والتفاوض».
U.S. President Donald Trump announced today (Monday) that the Strait of Hormuz will be fully opened (on Friday), reiterating his assertion that Iran “will not possess a nuclear weapon,” and that it has agreed to this.
During his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump described the issue of Iran not possessing a nuclear weapon as the “core of the dispute,” indicating that the agreement with Iran will benefit the Middle East region.
He noted that the United States has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tehran, and that the Strait of Hormuz has been partially opened, explaining that the strait will be fully opened (on Friday).
He confirmed that he wants to publish the memorandum of understanding with Iran “because it is an important and strong document,” and that it will be published soon.
Trump added: “We want good relations with Iran, and if that does not happen, we will return to war, and I hope that does not happen.”
For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron said (on Monday) that the memorandum of understanding signed by the United States and Iran to end their four-month war is a very important step that will allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, adding: “This is a very significant step for peace.”
Reuters reported that a U.S. official stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open without fees for 60 days under the agreement between the United States and Iran, adding that Washington expects free passage in the Strait of Hormuz to also be part of the final agreement.
A senior U.S. official told the agency that Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon is not a condition for completing the agreement with Iran, indicating that Tel Aviv will have the right to defend itself against attacks from the “Hezbollah” group.
The official added that “what Washington understands is that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf is authorized by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to sign and negotiate.”
