The General Directorate of Passports began today (Sunday) the procedures for correcting the status of residents of Yemeni nationality who are in the country illegally in all regions of Saudi Arabia, in implementation of the generous directives and in response to the request of the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council.
The passports department revealed on its official platform (x) the targeted categories for correction and the available facilities for them. The first category includes those who do not have Yemeni documents or passports, and they are granted a free visit visa for a period of (6) months. This requires booking an electronic appointment through the “Absher” platform, selecting the correction location, and visiting the specified location at the appointed time with a document proving Yemeni nationality, whether a passport or a travel document issued by the embassy.
The second category represents holders of expired visitor IDs, as well as those holding expired visit visas of various types, who have biometric data (fingerprints) registered in the system. Their visas are extended electronically in the system for a period of (6) months without the need to visit passport departments, provided they have a valid passport.
The third category includes residents whose residency permits have expired. If their travel documents are valid, they can transfer to other employers in need of their services through the digital platforms of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (Absher platform, Qiwa platform, and Musaned platform) without the need to visit government offices. Those who wish to leave can do so by being granted a final exit visa without restrictions preventing them from re-entering the Kingdom later.
The fourth category includes absentees from work. For those whose travel documents are valid, their status can be corrected by canceling the absenteeism report and transferring their services to other employers through the approved digital platforms: Absher, Qiwa, Musaned.
The General Directorate of Passports clarified that the approved correction centers in Saudi Arabia are border security system centers, and beneficiaries are received at 4 centers in the Riyadh region, two centers in the Makkah region, three centers in Asir, two centers in Jazan, three centers in the Eastern Province, and two centers in Al-Jawf.
