لم تدم فرحة لصوص اقتحموا متجر «أبل» في مدينة ليل الفرنسية طويلًا، بعدما ظهرت على شاشات هواتف آيفون المسروقة رسائل تؤكد تعطيلها وتتبع مواقعها، في واقعة أثارت سخرية واسعة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وأظهر مقطع فيديو متداول، عقب نهب المتجر في 17 أكتوبر، أحد اللصوص وهو يستعرض رسالة تحذيرية على هاتف مسروق، تطلب إعادته إلى متجر «أبل» في ليل، وتؤكد تعطيل الجهاز وتعقّب موقعه، مع إخطار السلطات المحلية.
وتتيح هذه الآلية للشركة تعطيل بعض الأجهزة المخصصة للعرض داخل متاجرها عند سرقتها، إلى جانب تتبعها، ما دفع مستخدمين إلى التعليق بسخرية على ما اعتبروه فشلًا سريعًا لمحاولة السرقة. وكتب أحدهم عبر منصة «إكس» أن اقتحام المتجر كان «أغبى خطوة على الإطلاق»، فيما توقع آخرون حظر الهواتف المسروقة وتحديد مواقعها.
وجاءت الحادثة خلال موجة احتجاجات شهدتها فرنسا في 17 أكتوبر، على خلفية قضايا التعليم وارتفاع تكاليف المعيشة، قبل أن تتسع رقعة الاضطرابات وتتحول إلى أعمال عنف ونهب في مدن عدة.
وفي ليل، وصف رئيس البلدية غريغوري دوسيه الساعات التي شهدتها المدينة بأنها «فوضى»، مشيرًا إلى تعرض ما بين 150 و200 متجر للنهب، وإضرام النار في مكتب للسياحة. كما أُوقف نحو 217 شخصًا، ضمن حملة أمنية شملت قرابة 2700 شخص على خلفية أعمال العنف والنهب في البلاد.
وفي خضم التصعيد، اتهم الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، الخميس، مجموعات منظمة من اليسار المتطرف بالوقوف وراء أعمال الشغب، معتبرًا أنها تسعى إلى إسقاط الجمهورية، وأن بعض الاعتداءات نُفذت بصورة مخططة ومنظمة وشديدة الخطورة.

This mechanism allows the company to disable certain devices designated for display inside its stores when stolen, in addition to tracking them, which led users to comment sarcastically on what they considered a quick failure of the theft attempt. One user wrote on the X platform that the store break-in was “the dumbest move ever,” while others anticipated the stolen phones would be banned and their locations tracked.
The incident occurred during a wave of protests that swept France on October 17, over issues related to education and the rising cost of living, before the unrest escalated into violence and looting in several cities.
In Lille, Mayor Grégory Doucet described the hours the city experienced as “chaos,” noting that between 150 and 200 stores were looted, and a tourism office was set on fire. About 217 people were arrested as part of a security operation that included nearly 2,700 individuals in connection with the violence and looting across the country.
Amid the escalation, French President Emmanuel Macron accused organized groups from the far left of being behind the riots, asserting that they aim to overthrow the republic, and that some attacks were carried out in a planned, organized, and highly dangerous manner.
