Today, President Dr. Rashad Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in the Republic of Yemen, and his accompanying delegation visited the headquarters of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action in Riyadh. He was received by the advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the Center, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen, who supervises the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, the Ambassador of Yemen to the Kingdom, Salem Saleh bin Brik, representatives of international organizations, and a number of leaders of the Center.

Alimi expressed the appreciation and gratitude of the Yemeni people to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister – may Allah protect them – for the valuable humanitarian assistance provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to his country through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which included various regions, provinces, and segments of the Yemeni people without discrimination. He pointed out that these noble Saudi positions will remain engraved in the memory of Yemeni generations.

He praised the “Masam” project for clearing Yemeni lands from mines, which has been awarded the highest honors in Yemen in recognition of its significant efforts in planting life and eliminating the landmines of death planted by the Houthi militia, noting that the Center has become a source of pride for the Kingdom and the entire world, with its assistance covering all needy and affected countries.

For his part, Dr. Al-Rabeeah welcomed the visit of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen to the King Salman Center for Relief, the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has, thanks to Allah and with the support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reached (113) countries and implemented (4,525) projects.

He stated that Yemen has always been and remains the top priority for the Center to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni brotherly people, having implemented (1,238) projects in Yemen with a budget exceeding (4.8) billion US dollars, with the participation of (362) international, local, and UN organizations.

He pointed out that the Kingdom is at the forefront of countries that have provided support to the Yemeni brotherly people over the past ten years, with Saudi Arabia’s diverse assistance exceeding (29) billion US dollars over the past decade, and the Center did not differentiate in providing it between regions and provinces of Yemen and segments of the Yemeni people.

He said, “At the beginning of the Fajr Yemen operation to restore the Yemeni state, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince – may Allah protect them – directed the Center to increase humanitarian support for all areas of Yemen, especially the displaced and most needy areas, and today we are launching a new package of charitable and humanitarian projects for the Yemeni brotherly people.”

He emphasized that humanitarian work in Yemen faces significant challenges due to the obstinacy of the Houthi militias, which have prevented access and detained humanitarian workers, including UN employees, and targeted aid, with the Yemeni brotherly people not being safe from these attacks, especially women and children. He called on the United Nations and the international community to put an end to these violations that have turned Yemen into one of the most humanitarian needy countries and placed the Yemeni brotherly people in a low humanitarian situation, urging the United Nations and the international community to pressure the Houthi militias to open humanitarian corridors to relieve the Yemeni people in Taiz.

After that, His Excellency watched a visual presentation about what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided in assistance to (175) countries, amounting to over (145) billion US dollars, including the works of the King Salman Center for Relief, which reached (4,525) projects in (113) countries around the world, with a value exceeding (8) billion and (638) million US dollars covering various sectors of relief support. The Republic of Yemen was at the forefront of the beneficiary countries through the implementation of (1,238) projects at a cost exceeding (4) billion and (821) million US dollars, covering sectors such as education, health, food security, and others, including specialized projects and programs for women (568) projects worth over (585) million dollars, projects for children (559) projects worth over (806) million dollars, as well as the program for the reintegration of child soldiers previously associated with armed conflict “Kafak,” the King Salman Center for Relief’s “Masam” project for clearing Yemeni lands from mines, and the Saudi project for prosthetics.

Afterwards, the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting with Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, during which they discussed matters of mutual interest related to humanitarian and relief affairs in Yemen and ways to enhance them.

Following this, President Dr. Rashad Alimi witnessed the launch of a package of diverse relief and humanitarian projects and (100) volunteer programs that the King Salman Center for Relief will implement in Yemen during the upcoming period.
