As negotiations continue in the Qatari capital, Doha, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed today (Sunday) that the negotiations are ongoing and making progress, but we have not yet reached a final result.
Araghchi said: We hope there will be rationality from the other side, indicating that consultations are ongoing with the Qatari mediator, but we have not reached the final outcome yet.
He added: Achieving a result depends on the response we receive from the other party, noting that there are no plans to hold a meeting with the American side during the Iranian delegation’s visit to Doha.
A knowledgeable official revealed earlier today that the Iranian negotiators have been in Doha for the third consecutive day, indicating that the Iranian delegation is holding talks with Qatari mediators with the aim of reaching an agreement to end the war with America.
He pointed out that Qatari mediators held talks in Tehran on Friday with Iranian officials before transferring the discussions to Doha, noting that the talks are being coordinated in the context of communications with Washington.
The talks come amid fears that the conflict may escalate again after the upcoming U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the talks with Tehran are fruitful and going well, but he did not rule out launching further military operations, while Tehran has vowed to respond to any new attacks by targeting American and Israeli objectives more broadly, and without “geographical constraints.”
