FC Bayern Munich announced today (Sunday) that their Moroccan star Ismail Sabiri has undergone surgery after being injured during the match against Borussia Dortmund yesterday in the German league.
Bayern loses Sabiri and Gnabry
The Bavarian club stated in a post on its “X” platform account: “Sabiri suffered a tear in his right ankle ligament, and the Moroccan international has already undergone successful surgery.”
Bayern Munich also announced that their player Serge Gnabry has sustained an injury to the hamstring of his left thigh, meaning both players will be absent from the team in the upcoming period.
According to the German newspaper “Bild,” Sabiri will be sidelined for at least three months, while Gnabry is expected to be out for a period ranging from four to six weeks.
A Crisis of Absences Hits Bayern Munich
Thus, Bayern Munich will miss four of their key attacking players in the upcoming match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League, as Luis Diaz is suffering from a muscle tear in the back of his left thigh, and Jamal Musiala has a muscle tear in his right thigh, before the addition of Sabiri and Gnabry to the list of injured.
Absences for Bayern Munich are not limited to players only, as coach Vincent Kompany is out due to meningitis, with his assistant Aaron Danks taking over the role in his place.
