تشرّفت بدعوة كريمة خاصة لحضور حفل جائزة مكة للتميّز في دورتها السابعة عشرة، تحت رعاية صاحب السمو الملكي مستشار خادم الحرمين الشريفين أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة الأمير خالد الفيصل، وتشريف وحضور صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير سعود بن مشعل بن عبدالعزيز نائب أمير المنطقة.
أمسية وطنية استثنائية احتفت بالتميّز، وجسّدت قيمة الإنجاز وروح الإبداع في وطنٍ اعتاد أن يكون دائماً في المقدمة، في تلك الأمسية لم يكن الاحتفاء مجرد تكريمٍ لفائزين، بل كان احتفاءً بفكرةٍ أكبر: أن التميّز ثقافة، وأن الإنجاز مسؤولية، وأن مكة المكرمة -قلب العالم- قادرة على أن تصوغ نموذجاً عالمياً في صناعة الجوائز كما تصوغ سنوياً أعظم مشهد إنساني في موسم الحج.
جائزة مكة للتميّز ليست حدثاً بروتوكولياً عابراً، بل منصة تُكرّس قيم الجودة والإبداع والابتكار في مختلف القطاعات؛ التعليمية، والاجتماعية، والاقتصادية، والإعلامية، والإنسانية. وهي في جوهرها انعكاسٌ لرؤية سعودية قيادية تؤمن بأن الاستثمار في الإنسان هو الاستثمار الأسمى، وأن التقدير العلني للإنجاز يصنع بيئة تنافس إيجابي تدفع بالمجتمع نحو الريادة.
غير أن مكة -بمكانتها الدينية والحضارية والتاريخية- تستحق أن تتجاوز جائزتها الإطار المحلي إلى الأفق العالمي، فكما تتجه إليها قلوب المسلمين من كل فجٍّ عميق، يمكن أن تتجه إليها عقول المبدعين من أنحاء العالم للمنافسة تحت مظلة جائزة تنطلق من أقدس بقاع الأرض وتحمل اسمها.
لذلك أقترح أن تتحوّل جائزة مكة للتميّز إلى جائزة عالمية، وهذا لا يعني فقط توسيع نطاق المشاركة، بل يعني بناء معيار دولي للتميّز يستند إلى قيم أصيلة: النزاهة، والإحسان، وخدمة الإنسان. ويعني كذلك استقطاب أفضل الممارسات العالمية، وتعزيز الشراكات الدولية، وإبراز مكة بوصفها مركزاً للحوار الحضاري والإبداع الإنساني.
العالم اليوم يتنافس في صناعة الجوائز الكبرى؛ لأنها أدوات قوة ناعمة، وجسور تأثير، ومنصات اعتراف دولي. ومكة -بما تمثله من رمزية جامعة- قادرة على أن تقدم جائزة عالمية بروح إنسانية تتجاوز الحدود والثقافات، وتحتفي بكل مشروع يخدم الإنسان ويعلي من قيمة الحياة وجودتها، نحن أمام فرصة تاريخية: أن تصبح جائزة مكة للتميّز مرجعاً عالمياً يُشار إليه، وأن يكون التتويج فيها حلماً لكل مبدع، كما هو الوصول إلى مكة حلم لكل مسلم. فالمكانة تفرض الطموح، والاسم يستحق الامتداد، والرؤية الوطنية اليوم قادرة على تحويل هذا الطموح إلى واقع.
ختاماً.. مبروك لكل الجهات الفائزة في جائزة مكة للتميّز، هذه الجائزة التي تهتم ببناء الإنسان والمكان، أقترح أن تكون عالمية.. بحجم رسالتها، وبقدر أثرها، وبسمو اسمها.
I was honored with a special invitation to attend the 17th session of the Makkah Award for Excellence, under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Emir of the region.
An exceptional national evening celebrated excellence and embodied the value of achievement and the spirit of creativity in a nation that has always been accustomed to being at the forefront. On that evening, the celebration was not just an honoring of winners, but a celebration of a larger idea: that excellence is a culture, that achievement is a responsibility, and that Makkah Al-Mukarramah – the heart of the world – is capable of shaping a global model in the award industry, just as it annually shapes the greatest humanitarian scene during the Hajj season.
The Makkah Award for Excellence is not a fleeting ceremonial event, but a platform that embodies the values of quality, creativity, and innovation across various sectors; educational, social, economic, media, and humanitarian. At its core, it reflects a visionary Saudi leadership that believes that investing in people is the highest investment, and that public recognition of achievement creates a positive competitive environment that drives society towards leadership.
However, Makkah – with its religious, civilizational, and historical significance – deserves for its award to transcend local boundaries to a global horizon. Just as the hearts of Muslims from every deep valley turn towards it, the minds of creators from around the world can also turn towards it to compete under the umbrella of an award that originates from the holiest places on earth and carries its name.
Therefore, I propose that the Makkah Award for Excellence be transformed into a global award. This does not only mean expanding the scope of participation, but also means establishing an international standard for excellence based on authentic values: integrity, benevolence, and service to humanity. It also means attracting the best global practices, enhancing international partnerships, and highlighting Makkah as a center for civilizational dialogue and human creativity.
The world today competes in creating major awards; they are tools of soft power, bridges of influence, and platforms for international recognition. Makkah – with its unifying symbolism – is capable of offering a global award with a humanitarian spirit that transcends borders and cultures, celebrating every project that serves humanity and elevates the value and quality of life. We are faced with a historic opportunity: for the Makkah Award for Excellence to become a global reference, and for winning it to be a dream for every creator, just as reaching Makkah is a dream for every Muslim. The status demands ambition, the name deserves extension, and the national vision today is capable of turning this ambition into reality.
In conclusion, congratulations to all the winning entities in the Makkah Award for Excellence, this award that focuses on building both people and place. I suggest it be global… in line with its message, in proportion to its impact, and in honor of its esteemed name.
