كشفت رواية إسرائيلية جديدة تفاصيل غير مسبوقة عن عملية «أجهزة البيجر المفخخة» التي استهدفت عناصر من «حزب الله» اللبناني في سبتمبر 2024، في واحدة من أكثر العمليات الأمنية تعقيداً وإثارة للجدل داخل المؤسسة الأمنية الإسرائيلية.
ووفق ما أوردته صحيفة «جيروزاليم بوست»، استناداً إلى مقابلة مع ضابط متقاعد في «الموساد» استخدم الاسم المستعار «آدم فاين»، فإن العملية واجهت خطر الانهيار الكامل قبل تنفيذها بأسابيع، بعدما اقترب عنصر تقني في «حزب الله» من اكتشاف أن أجهزة «البيجر» كانت مفخخة.
وجاءت هذه التفاصيل ضمن كتاب للضابط المتقاعد “فاين آدم”حمل عنوان «رسالة مصيرية»” (Fateful Message)،، قال مؤلفه إنه يستند إلى وقائع حقيقية شارك فيها عدد محدود من كبار مسؤولي «الموساد» والمؤسسة الأمنية الإسرائيلية، مع مزج بعض الشخصيات الحقيقية بعناصر درامية لأغراض السرد.
استدراج عنصر تقني لمنع كشف العملية
بحسب الرواية، عقد رئيس «الموساد» ديفيد برنياع اجتماعاً عاجلاً مع مسؤولين في سلاح الجو الإسرائيلي خلال صيف 2024، بعد ورود معلومات تؤكد أن أحد خبراء التكنولوجيا في «حزب الله» بدأ يفحص أجهزة البيجر بشكل قد يؤدي إلى كشف العملية بالكامل.
وأشار الكتاب إلى أن «الموساد» تحرك سريعاً لاستدراج العنصر إلى جنوب لبنان، حيث جرى استهدافه قبل أن يتمكن من استكمال الفحص الفني، فيما امتنع الضابط الإسرائيلي السابق عن كشف تفاصيل إضافية، مكتفياً بالقول إن «الوضع كان معقداً، وكان على الموساد التدخل لمنع تفاقم الأمور».
كما ذكرت الرواية أن «حزب الله» حاول لاحقاً التواصل مع الشركة المصنعة «غولد أبولو» بشأن رسالة كان العنصر قد أرسلها قبل مقتله، إلا أن «الموساد» تمكن من اعتراض الرسالة وتعطيل المراجعة التقنية إلى حين تنفيذ العملية.
مخاوف من الفحص الإيراني
وكشفت الرواية أن القلق الإسرائيلي لم يكن مقتصراً على فحوص «حزب الله»، بل امتد إلى احتمال خضوع الأجهزة لفحص تقني إيراني متقدم.
وبحسب ما ورد في الكتاب، كان أحد عناصر الحزب يستعد لنقل جهاز «بيجر» إلى مسؤول في «الحرس الثوري» الإيراني خلال زيارة إلى طهران، وهو ما اعتبرته المؤسسة الأمنية الإسرائيلية تهديداً بالغ الخطورة نظراً إلى القدرات التقنية الإيرانية.
وفي هذا السياق، أعادت صحيفة «واشنطن بوست» التذكير بخلافات سابقة داخل المؤسسة الأمنية الإسرائيلية بشأن توقيت تنفيذ العملية، إذ رأى قادة في الجيش أن إيران كانت على وشك كشف الأجهزة، ما استدعى تسريع التنفيذ قبل الموعد المخطط له.
في المقابل، تمسك «الموساد» بروايته التي تقول إن خطر انكشاف العملية كان قائماً في أكثر من مرحلة، وإن قرار تحويل التركيز الاستراتيجي من غزة إلى لبنان كان عاملاً حاسماً في اختيار توقيت التنفيذ.
شكوك داخل حزب الله قبل إتمام الصفقة
وكشف الكتاب أن «حزب الله» لم يتعامل بسهولة مع عرض أجهزة «البيجر» الجديدة، إذ شهدت أوساطه نقاشات واعتراضات داخلية قبل الموافقة على الشراء.
وأوضح فاين أن بعض مسؤولي الحزب أبدوا شكوكاً تجاه أي أجهزة تُعرض مباشرة من الشركات، خصوصاً أن الحزب كان يفضّل عادة اختيار أنظمة الاتصالات بنفسه.
لكن توقف بيع الأجهزة القديمة التي كان يعتمد عليها الحزب دفعه، وفق الرواية، إلى القبول بالانتقال إلى نظام جديد، رغم الحساسية الأمنية المرتبطة بأي تغيير في منظومة الاتصالات.
وأشار الكتاب إلى أن خبراء التكنولوجيا داخل الحزب كانوا يركزون بشكل رئيسي على احتمالات التنصت والاختراق الإلكتروني، دون الالتفات إلى احتمال زرع متفجرات داخل الأجهزة، وهو ما اعتبره «الموساد» أحد أهم أسباب نجاح العملية.
امرأة غامضة وواجهة تجارية
وتحدثت الرواية عن دور امرأة تُدعى «تيريزا»، قيل إنها كانت تعمل ضمن شركة حقيقية لديها تعاملات سابقة مع «حزب الله».
ووفقاً للتفاصيل، تلقّت «تيريزا» في مارس 2024 طلباً من الحزب لزيادة الطلبية من 500 جهاز سنوياً إلى 5000 جهاز دفعة واحدة.
كما أشار الكتاب إلى أن مسؤولة في «الموساد» تحمل الاسم الحركي «عينات»، وكانت تعمل تحت غطاء سيدة أعمال تُدعى «ليلى»، لعبت دوراً محورياً في تمرير الصفقة عبر توجيه التواصل مع رئيس شركة «غولد أبولو» هسو تشينغ كوانغ.
وأكد فاين أن الشركة المستخدمة في العملية كانت شركة حقيقية وليست واجهة إسرائيلية، وهو ما ساهم في تبديد الشكوك داخل الحزب.
تحويل منشآت الموساد إلى خطوط إنتاج
وكشف الكتاب عن أزمة لوجستية واجهها «الموساد» بعد طلبية الـ5000 جهاز، إذ رأى بعض كبار المسؤولين أن تصنيع هذا العدد خلال فترة قصيرة قد يهدد سرية العملية.
لكن رئيس «الموساد» أصر، بحسب الرواية، على تنفيذ الخطة، وأمر بتحويل موارد بشرية من مشاريع أخرى للمشاركة في التصنيع.
ووصل الأمر، وفق ما ورد في الكتاب، إلى تحويل صالات الألعاب الرياضية ومناطق الترفيه داخل منشآت «الموساد» إلى خطوط تجميع مؤقتة لأجهزة «البيجر».
ووصف فاين تلك المرحلة بأنها شهدت «جهوداً جنونية» لإنجاز الطلبية قبل الموعد المحدد.
خلافات داخل الموساد منذ 2019
وكشف التقرير أن فكرة تطوير عملية «البيجر» بدأت داخل «الموساد» منذ عام 2019، عندما طرح نائب رئيس الجهاز آنذاك -الذي يُعتقد أنه ديفيد برنياع- مشروعاً جديداً يضاف إلى عملية أجهزة اللاسلكي التي بدأ العمل عليها منذ 2014.
وبحسب الرواية، واجه المشروع اعتراضات داخلية واسعة، إذ اعتبر بعض المسؤولين أن فشل العملية الجديدة قد يؤدي إلى كشف العملية القديمة أيضاً.
كما رأى آخرون أن تنفيذ الفكرة مستحيل تقنياً بسبب صغر حجم الأجهزة، قبل أن تقدم محللة شابة تقريراً حول جهاز جديد يمكن استخدامه لإخفاء المتفجرات داخله.
وأشار فاين إلى أن قائدة نسائية داخل «الموساد» لعبت دوراً محورياً في تطوير المشروع، رغم أن الشخصيات الواردة في الكتاب قد تكون مركبة من أكثر من شخصية حقيقية.
نتنياهو حسم القرار
وسلطت الرواية الضوء على خلافات بين الجيش الإسرائيلي و«الموساد» بشأن توقيت تنفيذ العملية.
فبينما رأى رئيس الأركان الإسرائيلي آنذاك هرتسي هليفي أن الدخول في مواجهة واسعة مع «حزب الله» قد لا يكون الخيار الأمثل في ذلك التوقيت، اعتبر مسؤولو «الموساد» أن تأجيل التنفيذ قد يؤدي إلى انكشاف العملية بالكامل.
وبحسب الكتاب، حسم رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو القرار النهائي بالموافقة على التنفيذ، معتبراً أن قدرات أجهزة «البيجر» تمثل «قيمة استراتيجية هائلة».
أضرار جانبية وتساؤلات أخلاقية
وتطرق التقرير أيضاً إلى الجدل الأخلاقي المرتبط باستخدام شخصيات مدنية لا تعلم حقيقة دورها في العملية.
ومن أبرز الأسماء التي وردت في الرواية، سيدة الأعمال كريستيانا بارسوني أرتشيدياكونو، مديرة شركة BAC Consulting، التي نفت خلال مقابلة مع شبكة NBC أي علاقة لها بتصنيع أجهزة البيجر، مؤكدة أنها «مجرد وسيط».
لكن الرواية تشير إلى أنها اختفت لاحقاً عن الأنظار، وسط معلومات تحدثت عن وضعها تحت حماية أمنية في المجر لفترة قصيرة.
ونقل التقرير عن فاين قوله إن «الموساد» يحاول تقليل الأضرار الجانبية قدر الإمكان، وإن المؤسسة الأمنية تناقش داخلياً تبعات استخدام أشخاص مدنيين في عمليات حساسة، مشيراً إلى أن رئيس «الموساد» طلب تعويض الأشخاص الذين استُخدموا دون علمهم وتقليل الأضرار التي قد تلحق بهم.
«الثمن العائلي» للعمل الأمني
وفي ختام المقابلة، تحدث فاين عن الضغوط الشخصية والعائلية التي يتحملها العاملون في الأجهزة الأمنية الإسرائيلية، مؤكداً أن العمل العملياتي الطويل، خصوصاً في المهام الخارجية، يفرض أعباء كبيرة على الحياة الأسرية.
وأضاف أن كثيراً من مسؤولي «الموساد» يضطرون أحياناً إلى الابتعاد عن العمل الأمني لفترات والعودة إلى الحياة المدنية، قبل العودة مجدداً إلى المناصب العليا، مشيراً إلى أن رئيسي «الموساد» السابقين ديفيد برنياع ويوسي كوهين سلكا هذا المسار خلال مسيرتهما المهنية.
A new Israeli narrative has revealed unprecedented details about the “booby-trapped pager devices” operation that targeted elements of the Lebanese “Hezbollah” in September 2024, in one of the most complex and controversial security operations within the Israeli security establishment.
According to the “Jerusalem Post,” citing an interview with a retired officer from the “Mossad” who used the alias “Adam Fine,” the operation faced the risk of complete collapse weeks before its execution, after a technical element in “Hezbollah” came close to discovering that the “pagers” were booby-trapped.
These details were included in a book by the retired officer “Fine Adam,” titled “Fateful Message,” which the author claimed is based on real events involving a limited number of senior officials from the “Mossad” and the Israeli security establishment, blending some real characters with dramatic elements for narrative purposes.
Enticing a Technical Element to Prevent the Operation from Being Exposed
According to the narrative, Mossad chief David Barnea held an urgent meeting with officials from the Israeli Air Force during the summer of 2024, after receiving information confirming that one of the technology experts in “Hezbollah” had begun examining the pager devices in a way that could lead to the complete exposure of the operation.
The book noted that the “Mossad” quickly moved to entice the element to southern Lebanon, where he was targeted before he could complete the technical examination, while the former Israeli officer refrained from disclosing additional details, merely stating that “the situation was complicated, and the Mossad had to intervene to prevent matters from escalating.”
The narrative also mentioned that “Hezbollah” later attempted to contact the manufacturer “Gold Apollo” regarding a message that the element had sent before his death, but the “Mossad” managed to intercept the message and disable the technical review until the operation was executed.
Concerns About Iranian Examination
The narrative revealed that Israeli concerns were not limited to “Hezbollah” examinations but extended to the possibility of the devices undergoing advanced Iranian technical scrutiny.
According to the book, one of the party’s elements was preparing to transfer a “pager” device to an official in the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard” during a visit to Tehran, which the Israeli security establishment considered a grave threat given Iran’s technical capabilities.
In this context, the “Washington Post” reminded of previous disagreements within the Israeli security establishment regarding the timing of the operation’s execution, as leaders in the army believed that Iran was on the verge of exposing the devices, necessitating the acceleration of execution before the planned date.
In contrast, the “Mossad” maintained its narrative that the risk of the operation being exposed existed at multiple stages, and that the decision to shift strategic focus from Gaza to Lebanon was a decisive factor in choosing the timing of execution.
Doubts Within Hezbollah Before Finalizing the Deal
The book revealed that “Hezbollah” did not easily accept the offer of the new “pager” devices, as internal discussions and objections occurred before agreeing to the purchase.
Fine explained that some party officials expressed doubts about any devices offered directly from companies, especially since the party usually preferred to select communication systems themselves.
However, the halt in the sale of the old devices that the party relied on led them, according to the narrative, to accept the transition to a new system, despite the security sensitivity associated with any change in the communication system.
The book indicated that technology experts within the party were primarily focused on the possibilities of eavesdropping and electronic penetration, without considering the possibility of explosives being planted inside the devices, which the “Mossad” deemed one of the most important reasons for the operation’s success.
A Mysterious Woman and a Commercial Front
The narrative discussed the role of a woman named “Teresa,” who was said to have worked within a legitimate company that had previous dealings with “Hezbollah.”
According to the details, “Teresa” received a request from the party in March 2024 to increase the order from 500 devices annually to 5,000 devices in one batch.
The book also noted that a female official in the “Mossad,” using the codename “Einat,” who worked under the cover of a businesswoman named “Laila,” played a pivotal role in facilitating the deal by directing communication with the head of “Gold Apollo,” Hsu Ching Kwang.
Fine confirmed that the company used in the operation was a legitimate company and not an Israeli front, which helped dispel doubts within the party.
Transforming Mossad Facilities into Production Lines
The book revealed a logistical crisis faced by the “Mossad” after the order for 5,000 devices, as some senior officials believed that manufacturing this number in a short period could threaten the secrecy of the operation.
However, the Mossad chief insisted, according to the narrative, on executing the plan and ordered the reallocation of human resources from other projects to participate in manufacturing.
The situation, as reported in the book, reached the point of converting gymnasiums and recreational areas within “Mossad” facilities into temporary assembly lines for “pager” devices.
Fine described that phase as witnessing “crazy efforts” to complete the order before the deadline.
Disagreements Within the Mossad Since 2019
The report revealed that the idea of developing the “pager” operation began within the “Mossad” in 2019 when the then-deputy head of the agency – believed to be David Barnea – proposed a new project to be added to the wireless device operation that had been underway since 2014.
According to the narrative, the project faced widespread internal objections, as some officials believed that the failure of the new operation could also lead to the exposure of the old operation.
Others believed that implementing the idea was technically impossible due to the small size of the devices, before a young analyst presented a report on a new device that could be used to conceal explosives inside it.
Fine noted that a female leader within the “Mossad” played a pivotal role in developing the project, although the characters mentioned in the book may be composites of more than one real character.
Netanyahu Made the Final Decision
The narrative highlighted disagreements between the Israeli army and the “Mossad” regarding the timing of the operation’s execution.
While the then Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Herzi Halevi, believed that entering into a wide confrontation with “Hezbollah” might not be the best option at that time, “Mossad” officials considered that delaying execution could lead to the complete exposure of the operation.
According to the book, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the final decision to approve execution, considering that the capabilities of the “pagers” represented “enormous strategic value.”
Collateral Damage and Ethical Questions
The report also addressed the ethical controversy associated with using civilian characters who are unaware of their true role in the operation.
Among the prominent names mentioned in the narrative is businesswoman Kristiana Parsoni Archidiacono, director of BAC Consulting, who denied during an interview with NBC any connection to the manufacturing of the pagers, asserting that she is “just a broker.”
However, the narrative indicates that she later disappeared from sight, amid reports of her being placed under security protection in Hungary for a short period.
The report quoted Fine as saying that the “Mossad” tries to minimize collateral damage as much as possible, and that the security establishment is internally discussing the implications of using civilian individuals in sensitive operations, noting that the head of the “Mossad” requested compensation for individuals who were used without their knowledge and to mitigate any damage that may befall them.
The “Family Price” of Security Work
At the end of the interview, Fine spoke about the personal and family pressures endured by those working in Israeli security agencies, emphasizing that long operational work, especially in external missions, imposes significant burdens on family life.
He added that many “Mossad” officials sometimes have to step away from security work for periods and return to civilian life before returning again to senior positions, noting that the last two heads of the “Mossad,” David Barnea and Yossi Cohen, followed this path during their professional careers.
