تعيدنا حكاية الطبيب المصري، الذي ابتدع نظاماً غذائياً لبعض المرضى المصابين بأمراض مختلفة ومنها السكري، وعانوا من مضاعفات خطيرة أدت إلى وفاة بعضهم، تعيدنا هذه الحكاية إلى الأجراس التي قُرعت مراراً وتكراراً للتنبيه من خطورة ما يدعيه بعض المصابين بعلل نفسية في الوسط الطبي، والدجالين والمشعوذين والمسترزقين ببعض الآيات والأحاديث التي يفسرونها للمرضى الجهلة على هواهم، ويجعلونهم يتركون أدويتهم لتكون نهايتهم التهلكة.
الخطورة في هذه القضية المتكررة لا تقتصر فقط على من يمارسون تضليل المرضى لأي سبب، ولكن أيضاً في جانبين آخرين، هما الإعلام والقانون. إعلام الإثارة الذي يدار بلا وعي ومسؤولية هو الذي ينشر هذه الخزعبلات على نطاق واسع ويروّج لها باستضافة أولئك المختلين وتبنّي جهالاتهم، دون استضافة أطباء متخصصين لديهم المعرفة والشجاعة لتفنيدها وتمحيصها وفضح كذبها وضررها على الناس. إعلام سطحي وإعلاميون بلا مسؤولية يفتحون الأبواب للأدعياء ويسلطون الضوء عليهم ليتلقف العامة ثرثراتهم ويقتنع بعضهم بها ويطبقها لتكون نهاياتهم وخيمة.
وفي الجانب الآخر، لا توجد محاسبة قانونية فعالة وناجزة وقوية تجاه أولئك المتسببين في إلحاق الضرر بالناس، الذين يخالفون قواعد الممارسة الطبية المهنية المعتبرة وأخلاقياتها وضوابطها. الجهات الرسمية المسؤولة عن الصحة لا تتحرك كما يجب لضبط ومحاسبة ومنع هؤلاء، ولا تحمي المجتمع بتوضيح حقيقة وضرر ادعاءاتهم في الوقت المناسب، وهذا ما لا نجد له عذراً أو تفسيراً، لأنها المسؤولة بحكم النظام والقانون عن ذلك.
إنها كارثة وعي عندما تعمل العقول في مراكز الأبحاث الطبية لعقود طويلة من أجل اكتشاف دواء فعال لأحد الأمراض، التي يعاني منها ملايين البشر، ثم يأتي جاهل أو نصّاب أو طبيب مختل ليقنع الناس بتركه في وسائل الإعلام أو التواصل الاجتماعي، وجميع الجهات المسؤولة عن قطع دابر هذا العبث تتفرج عليه دون حراك، وإذا تحركت يكون ذلك بعد سقوط الضحايا.
The story of the Egyptian doctor, who devised a diet for some patients suffering from various diseases, including diabetes, and who suffered from serious complications that led to the death of some of them, brings us back to the alarms that have been sounded repeatedly to warn of the dangers posed by some individuals with psychological ailments in the medical community, as well as charlatans and quacks who profit from certain verses and hadiths that they interpret for ignorant patients according to their whims, leading them to abandon their medications, resulting in their demise.
The danger in this recurring issue is not limited to those who mislead patients for any reason, but also extends to two other aspects: the media and the law. Sensationalist media, which operates without awareness and responsibility, is what spreads these absurdities widely and promotes them by hosting those deluded individuals and adopting their ignorance, without inviting specialized doctors who possess the knowledge and courage to refute, scrutinize, and expose the lies and harm they cause to people. Shallow media and irresponsible journalists open the doors for impostors and shine a spotlight on them, allowing the public to latch onto their ramblings, with some becoming convinced and applying them, leading to dire consequences.
On the other hand, there is no effective, prompt, and strong legal accountability for those who cause harm to people, who violate the established rules and ethics of professional medical practice. The official health authorities do not act as they should to regulate, hold accountable, and prevent these individuals, nor do they protect the community by clarifying the truth and harm of their claims in a timely manner, which we find no excuse or explanation for, as they are responsible by virtue of the system and the law.
It is a catastrophe of awareness when minds in medical research centers work for decades to discover an effective treatment for one of the diseases that millions of people suffer from, only for an ignorant person, a fraud, or a deluded doctor to convince people to abandon it in the media or on social media, while all the responsible authorities that should put an end to this nonsense watch without action, and if they do act, it is only after the victims have fallen.
