أقرّ مساعد مدرب نيوم، تيري أولكساك، بأن فريقه لم يظهر بالمستوى المأمول في بداية مواجهته أمام الحزم، التي انتهت بالتعادل 1-1، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثامنة من دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين، مشيراً إلى أن العودة إلى أجواء المنافسات بعد فترة التوقف كانت أحد التحديات التي واجهت الفريق قبل اللقاء.
وأوضح تيري، خلال المؤتمر الصحفي عقب المباراة، أن أداء نيوم تحسّن في الشوط الثاني، ونجح اللاعبون في العودة إلى المباراة وإدراك التعادل، غير أن النتيجة لم تكن مرضية لطموحات الفريق، رغم ردة الفعل التي أظهرها بعد التأخر.
وعن الهدف الذي استقبله الفريق، أشار إلى افتقاد الجودة المطلوبة في التعامل مع الكرات على الأطراف، موضحاً أن الجهاز الفني كان يدرك خطورة الحزم في هذا الجانب، إلا أن أخطاء فنية أسهمت في استقبال الهدف.
ورداً على سؤال «عكاظ» بشأن أولويات نيوم بين دوري روشن السعودي وكأس الملك والبطولة الخليجية، والمركز الذي يستهدفه في الدوري، أكد تيري أن الفريق يطمح إلى المنافسة على البطولات الثلاث، مشدداً على جاهزيته لخوض منافسات كأس الملك والبطولة الخليجية. وفيما يتعلق بموقع الفريق في جدول الدوري، لم يحدد مركزاً بعينه، مكتفياً بالتأكيد على تطلعه إلى إنهاء الموسم بصورة أفضل من الموسم الماضي.
وحول غياب المدرب الفرنسي كريستوف غالتييه عن مقاعد البدلاء بسبب العقوبة الانضباطية، أوضح تيري أن سنوات عمله إلى جانبه أسهمت في ترسيخ الانسجام داخل الجهاز الفني، مؤكداً أن هذه الخبرة تساعد على مواصلة تطبيق النهج التدريبي والتعامل مع غياب المدرب، بما يضمن استمرارية العمل الفني داخل الفريق.
Neom’s assistant coach, Terry Olksak, acknowledged that his team did not perform at the expected level at the beginning of their match against Al-Hazm, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as part of the eighth round of the Roshen Saudi Professional League, pointing out that returning to competitive action after a break was one of the challenges the team faced before the match.
Terry explained during the press conference after the match that Neom’s performance improved in the second half, and the players succeeded in coming back into the game and equalizing, but the result was not satisfactory for the team’s ambitions, despite the reaction they showed after falling behind.
Regarding the goal conceded by the team, he pointed to a lack of the required quality in dealing with balls on the flanks, explaining that the coaching staff was aware of Al-Hazm’s danger in this area, but technical errors contributed to conceding the goal.
In response to a question from “Okaz” regarding Neom’s priorities between the Roshen Saudi League, the King’s Cup, and the Gulf Championship, as well as the position they aim for in the league, Terry confirmed that the team aspires to compete for all three tournaments, emphasizing their readiness to participate in the King’s Cup and the Gulf Championship. As for the team’s position in the league table, he did not specify a particular rank, merely affirming his desire to finish the season better than last season.
Regarding the absence of French coach Christophe Galtier from the bench due to disciplinary action, Terry explained that his years of working alongside him have contributed to establishing harmony within the coaching staff, confirming that this experience helps in continuing to implement the training approach and dealing with the coach’s absence, ensuring the continuity of the technical work within the team.
