ويُعد مايكل مان من الأسماء البارزة في الإخراج السينمائي الأمريكي، إذ ارتبط اسمه بأعمال تركت حضوراً لافتاً في هوليوود، من بينها أفلام «Heat» الذي عُرض عام 1995، و«The Last of the Mohicans»، و«The Insider»، و«Collateral»، إضافة إلى «Miami Vice».
American director Michael Mann’s shooting training did not go as usual, as it turned into an unexpected incident when he was accidentally shot in the leg at a shooting range in Los Angeles, necessitating his transfer to the hospital for treatment, before he was discharged the same day.
American media reported that the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon while Mann, who is 83 years old, was practicing shooting, when a bullet was unintentionally fired and struck him in the leg as he was attempting to return the gun to its holster.
Initial investigations indicated that the shooting occurred accidentally during training, with no signs that the incident was an attempt at self-harm.
For his part, the director’s spokesperson clarified that the injury was minor and superficial, noting that Mann was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he received the necessary medical care, before his condition allowed him to leave and return home the same day.
