هل لاحظتم ما لاحظته؟ فيما يخص مغادرة منتخبنا السعودي المشارك في نهائيات كأس العالم، التي تنطلق منافساتها اليوم، أرض الوطن دون تلك المراسم والبروتوكولات والتغطية الإعلامية المحلية التي اعتدنا مشاهدتها قبل مشاركاته السابقة كافة، منذ ظهوره التاريخي الأول في مونديال 1994 وحتى آخر مشاركة قبل أربعة أعوام، حيث اكتُفي هذه المرة بلقاء وزير الرياضة ورئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل بلاعبي المنتخب قبل المغادرة، الذي حثهم على تقديم كل ما لديهم من إمكانات وروح عالية، ونقل لهم تحيات وأمنيات ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بالتوفيق في هذه البطولة.

– حتى على مستوى الوفد الإعلامي المرافق، يبدو أنه أقل حضوراً وعدداً مقارنة بالمراحل السابقة، وفق رؤية مختلفة فرضتها ظروف معينة لا أظنها تغيب عن فطنة المواطن السعودي عامة والمشجع الرياضي خاصة أُخذت في الاعتبار، ولعل أبرزها واقع منتخب مرّ خلال الفترة الماضية بتحولات قاسية لم تكن في الحسبان، غيّرت كثيراً من التطلعات الكبيرة التي كانت معقودة عليه في هذه المشاركة.

– وكان من أبرز الأسباب ما يتعلّق بالمدرب الفرنسي رينارد، الذي خذل الشارع الرياضي السعودي، وقبله الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، وكذلك كل من أوصى أو اقترح عودته لتدريب الأخضر، بعدما تبخرت الآمال التي صاحبت ذلك القرار، ودخل المنتخب في مرحلة من عدم الاستقرار الفني انعكست على نتائجه ومستواه.

– ولعل ما هو مختلف في المشاركة الحالية عن سابقاتها أن المنتخب لم يدخلها بعد فترة إعداد مستقرة، بل جاء إليها وسط متغيرات فنية متسارعة فرضت على الجميع إعادة النظر في سقف التوقعات والتعامل مع الواقع كما هو لا كما نتمنى أن يكون.

– أما فيما يتعلق بالتغطية الإعلامية، سواء على مستوى الصحف أو وكالات الأنباء أو البرامج الرياضية، فلا أظن أنه من الممكن مقارنتها بما كان عليه الإعلام الرياضي المحلي في السابق. صحيح أن إعلام الأمس كان أقل إمكانات وأدوات، لكنه كان أكثر اجتهاداً في البحث عن المعلومة ونقلها وصناعة الحدث، بينما أصبح العالم اليوم قرية واحدة، وبات بإمكان أي متابع، بضغطة زر، أن يصل خلال ثوانٍ معدودة إلى الأخبار والتصريحات والتحليلات واللقاءات وكل ما يتعلق بالمباريات والأحداث بالصوت والصورة.

– ومن منظور إبعاد الأخضر عن أي مؤثرات خارجية أو «ضغوط» نفسية ومعنوية قد تؤثر عليه، فإن تقليص المظاهر المصاحبة للمشاركة الحالية قد يكون أمراً مقصوداً أكثر من كونه استثنائياً، خصوصاً في ظل وجود مدرب لم يحصل بعد على فرصته الكاملة، وهو السيد دونيس الذي أوكلت إليه مهمة تدريب المنتخب قبل نحو شهرين تقريباً، إضافة إلى لاعبين اختلفت مدارسهم التدريبية وتجاربهم الفنية خلال فترة قصيرة.

– ولهذا، لا يمكن تحميل اللاعبين وحدهم مسؤولية ما آلت إليه الأمور، فهم يتعاملون مع ظروف فنية وإدارية متراكمة لم يكونوا طرفاً في صنعها، وسيبقى عليهم داخل الملعب بذل أقصى ما لديهم دفاعاً عن شعار الوطن وتمثيل الكرة السعودية بالصورة المشرفة التي تليق بها فنياً وسلوكاً.

– لذلك أرى أن منتخبنا السعودي في هذه البطولة ليس مطالباً بتحقيق إنجاز يتمثّل في بلوغ مراحل متقدمة، فمن غير المنطق والإنصاف الحكم عليه بالمعايير ذاتها التي نحكم بها على منتخبات سابقة جاءت إلى كأس العالم بعد سنوات من الاستقرار والإعداد والتجهيز. ومن البديهي أن أي منتخب يمر بتغيير فني متأخر يدفع ثمن ذلك على مستوى الانسجام والاستقرار، وهي حقيقة لا تخص المنتخب السعودي وحده، بل تنطبق على جميع المنتخبات إن واجهت الظروف نفسها.

– وفي ضوء المشهد الواضح، كما أرى، أن الشارع الرياضي السعودي بات مهيأً بصورة كاملة لكل الاحتمالات الواردة، وهو ما جعل المسؤولين- من وجهة نظري- يتعاملون مع مشاركة الكرة السعودية في هذا المونديال بصورة مختلفة عما كانت عليه الحال في المشاركات السابقة من جميع النواحي، ومع ذلك، فإن كرة القدم لا تعترف دائماً بالترشيحات المسبقة ولا بالأسماء وحدها، وكثيراً ما صنعت المنتخبات التي دخلت البطولات بعيداً عن الأضواء أجمل مفاجآتها وأبرز إنجازاتها.

– ومن يتذكر مشاركة 1994 يدرك أن كثيراً من التوقعات لم تكن في صالح المنتخب آنذاك، لكن الإيمان بالقدرات والعزيمة داخل الملعب وروح المجموعة كان كفيلاً بقلب الموازين وصناعة إنجاز لا يزال حاضراً في ذاكرة الرياضة السعودية حتى اليوم.

– صحيح أن الجماهير السعودية ستكون حاضرة بكثافة في المباريات التي سيخوضها الأخضر، وستحظى باهتمام كبير بتهيئة الأجواء المناسبة كافة للإقامة والدعم والمؤازرة، كما أن الملايين خلف الشاشات سيتابعونه بشغف، إلا أن القلوب ستبقى معلقة بين الأمل والخوف، وبين التطلعات والواقع.

– لذلك لا نملك إلّا أن نكثر من الدعاء لمنتخبنا الوطني، وأن نتفاءل به كما تفاءلنا بمنتخب 1994 الذي كان عند حسن الظن، رغم أنه واجه في تلك المرحلة ظروفاً متشابهة في بعض جوانبها مع ما يمر به المنتخب الحالي.

– أخيراً وليس آخراً.. دعواتنا للأخضر بالتوفيق، وأن يقدّم الصورة المشرفة التي تليق باسم المملكة ومكانة الكرة السعودية، فتمثيل الوطن في المحافل العالمية يظل مسؤولية عظيمة وشرفاً يتجاوز حدود الفوز والخسارة.

Regarding the departure of our Saudi national team participating in the World Cup finals, which kicks off today, from the homeland without the ceremonies, protocols, and local media coverage that we have become accustomed to seeing before all its previous participations, since its historic debut in the 1994 World Cup until the last participation four years ago. This time, it was limited to a meeting with the Minister of Sports and the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, with the players before their departure, where he urged them to give their all and maintain high spirits, and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for success in this tournament.

– Even at the level of the accompanying media delegation, it seems to have a lesser presence and number compared to previous stages, according to a different vision imposed by certain circumstances that I do not think are lost on the awareness of the Saudi citizen in general and the sports fan in particular. Perhaps the most notable of these is the reality that the team has gone through harsh transformations in the past period that were not anticipated, changing many of the great expectations that were placed on it for this participation.

– One of the most prominent reasons relates to the French coach Renard, who disappointed the Saudi sports community, and before that, the Saudi Football Federation, as well as everyone who recommended or suggested his return to coach the Green, after the hopes that accompanied that decision evaporated, and the team entered a phase of technical instability that reflected on its results and level.

– What is different about the current participation compared to previous ones is that the team did not enter it after a stable preparation period; rather, it came amid rapid technical changes that forced everyone to reconsider the ceiling of expectations and deal with reality as it is, not as we wish it to be.

– As for the media coverage, whether at the level of newspapers, news agencies, or sports programs, I do not think it is possible to compare it to what local sports media was like in the past. It is true that yesterday’s media had fewer resources and tools, but it was more diligent in searching for information, conveying it, and creating events, while today the world has become a single village, and any follower can, with the click of a button, access news, statements, analyses, interviews, and everything related to matches and events in a matter of seconds.

– From the perspective of keeping the Green away from any external influences or psychological and moral “pressures” that may affect it, the reduction of accompanying appearances for the current participation may be more intentional than exceptional, especially in light of having a coach who has not yet received his full opportunity, Mr. Donis, who was entrusted with the task of coaching the team about two months ago, in addition to players whose training backgrounds and experiences have varied in a short period.

– Therefore, it is not fair to place the blame solely on the players for what has transpired; they are dealing with accumulated technical and administrative circumstances in which they were not involved in creating. They will still have to give their utmost on the field in defense of the national emblem and represent Saudi football in a manner that befits it both technically and behaviorally.

– Thus, I believe that our Saudi team in this tournament is not required to achieve an accomplishment represented in reaching advanced stages. It is neither logical nor fair to judge it by the same standards we use to evaluate previous teams that came to the World Cup after years of stability, preparation, and readiness. It is evident that any team undergoing a late technical change pays the price in terms of harmony and stability, a reality that does not pertain solely to the Saudi team but applies to all teams if they face the same circumstances.

– In light of the clear scene, as I see it, the Saudi sports community has become fully prepared for all possible outcomes, which has led officials, in my opinion, to deal with Saudi football’s participation in this World Cup differently than in previous participations from all aspects. Nevertheless, football does not always recognize prior nominations or names alone, and many teams that entered tournaments away from the spotlight have created their most beautiful surprises and greatest achievements.

– Those who remember the 1994 participation realize that many expectations were not in favor of the team at that time, but belief in abilities, determination on the field, and team spirit were enough to turn the tables and create an achievement that remains present in the memory of Saudi sports to this day.

– It is true that Saudi fans will be present in large numbers at the matches the Green will play, and they will receive significant attention in preparing all the appropriate conditions for accommodation, support, and encouragement. Moreover, millions behind the screens will follow it with passion, but hearts will remain suspended between hope and fear, between aspirations and reality.

– Therefore, we can only increase our prayers for our national team and be optimistic about it as we were with the 1994 team, which lived up to expectations, even though it faced similar circumstances in some aspects to what the current team is going through.

– Finally, our prayers for the Green for success, and that it presents an honorable image that befits the name of the Kingdom and the status of Saudi football, as representing the homeland in global forums remains a great responsibility and an honor that transcends the limits of winning and losing.
