أكد الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، أن دول المجلس تسعى دائمًا إلى تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية والازدهار، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة لشعوب المنطقة والعالم أجمع، في ظل ما يشهده العالم من تغيرات جيوسياسية متسارعة وتحديات أمنية واقتصادية متنامية.
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركة في جلسة حول العلاقات الإستراتيجية الخليجية الأوروبية، التي عقدت اليوم، بالعاصمة التشيكية براغ، وذلك على هامش أعمال منتدى غلوبسيك الأمني العالمي 2026.
وقال الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية: «إن مشاركة الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعاون في منتدى غلوبسيك الأمني العالمي 2026، تجسد حرصها على الحضور الفاعل في المحافل الإقليمية والدولية، وتعزيز التواصل وتبادل الرؤى مع الشركاء الدوليين وصنّاع القرار والخبراء، بما يسهم في دعم الجهود الرامية إلى ترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي، ومواكبة المتغيرات والتحديات المتسارعة التي يشهدها العالم».
وأضاف أن المنطقة شهدت خلال الفترة الماضية العديد من الأحداث التي أثرت في الأمن والاستقرار بشكل كبير، وقد واصلت دول المجلس جهودها الدبلوماسية المتواصلة لخفض التصعيد وإخماد فتيل التوتر في المنطقة، وتعزيز مسارات الحوار والدبلوماسية بما يحفظ أمن المنطقة واستقرارها وسلامة شعوبها.
وأشار إلى الأهمية البالغة لحماية أمن الممرات الجوية والبحرية، وضمان حرية الملاحة وسلامة سلاسل الإمداد واستقرار أسواق الطاقة العالمية، وأن استقرار منطقة الخليج يمثل ركيزة أساسية لاستقرار الاقتصاد العالمي وأمن الملاحة الدولية.
وأوضح أن التطورات الأخيرة أثبتت أن أمن أوروبا والشرق الأوسط أصبح مترابطًا بصورة غير مسبوقة، وأن أي اضطراب في منطقة الخليج والممرات البحرية المحيطة بها ينعكس بشكل مباشر على الاقتصاد الأوروبي وأمن الطاقة العالمي وسلاسل الإمداد والاستقرار الدولي بشكل عام، مؤكدًا أن استقرار الخليج لم يعد شأنًا إقليميًا فحسب، بل أصبح مصلحة دولية مشتركة.
وفي حديثه عن مستقبل العلاقات الخليجية – الأوروبية، ذكر أن الجانبين يتطلعان إلى تطويرها إلى آفاق أرحب، وأن القمة الخليجية – الأوروبية المرتقبة ستسهم في تعزيز التعاون في العديد من المجالات وتحقيق المصالح المشتركة للجانبين، مشيرًا إلى أهمية التوصل إلى نتائج ملموسة تخدم الطرفين وتعزز التعاون القائم بينهما.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, confirmed that the member states of the Council are always striving to enhance security, stability, development, and prosperity, in a manner that serves the common interests of the peoples of the region and the world at large, amid the rapid geopolitical changes and growing security and economic challenges facing the world.
This came during his participation in a session on Gulf-European strategic relations, which was held today in the Czech capital, Prague, on the sidelines of the Global Globsec Security Forum 2026.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council stated: “The participation of the General Secretariat of the Council in the Global Globsec Security Forum 2026 embodies its commitment to being actively present in regional and international forums, and to enhancing communication and exchanging views with international partners, decision-makers, and experts, in a way that contributes to supporting efforts aimed at consolidating regional and international security and stability, and keeping pace with the rapid changes and challenges facing the world.”
He added that the region has witnessed many events in the past period that have significantly impacted security and stability, and that the member states of the Council have continued their ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and quell the flames of conflict in the region, while enhancing dialogue and diplomacy to preserve the security and stability of the region and the safety of its peoples.
He pointed to the critical importance of protecting the security of air and maritime corridors, ensuring freedom of navigation, the safety of supply chains, and the stability of global energy markets, emphasizing that the stability of the Gulf region is a fundamental pillar for the stability of the global economy and the security of international navigation.
He clarified that recent developments have proven that the security of Europe and the Middle East has become unprecedentedly interconnected, and that any disruption in the Gulf region and its surrounding maritime corridors directly affects the European economy, global energy security, supply chains, and international stability in general, stressing that the stability of the Gulf is no longer just a regional issue, but has become a shared international interest.
In discussing the future of Gulf-European relations, he mentioned that both sides are looking to develop them into broader horizons, and that the upcoming Gulf-European summit will contribute to enhancing cooperation in many areas and achieving the common interests of both sides, pointing to the importance of reaching tangible results that serve both parties and strengthen the existing cooperation between them.
