دان الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون الخليجي جاسم البديوي «بأشد العبارات» استمرار الهجمات الإيرانية على دولة الكويت.
وأوضح، في بيان، أن «استمرار هذه الهجمات الغادرة يُعد انتهاكاً صارخاً لمبادئ القانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة ومبادئ حسن الجوار»، مؤكداً دعم دول المجلس الكامل لدولة الكويت في جميع الإجراءات التي تتخذها للحفاظ على أمنها واستقرارها وسلامة مواطنيها والمقيمين على أراضيها.
ونددت الدول الخليجية والعربية بالهجوم الإيراني على الكويت، مؤكدة أن هذه الاعتداءات الإرهابية تمثل انتهاكاً صارخاً لسيادة دولة الكويت وتهديداً لأمنها واستقرارها.
وفي غضون ذلك، أكدت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية، اليوم (الخميس)، أن خرق إيران لوقف إطلاق النار جاء بعد ساعات من إطلاقها 5 طائرات مسيّرة في مضيق هرمز ومحيطه.
وقالت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية، في بيان، إن إيران أطلقت صاروخاً بالستياً عند الساعة 10:17 مساءً بتوقيت الساحل الشرقي الأمريكي يوم 27 مايو (صباح الخميس بالتوقيت المحلي) باتجاه الكويت، مؤكدة أن القوات الكويتية تمكنت من اعتراضه بنجاح.
وأوضح البيان أن هذا الانتهاك الصارخ لوقف إطلاق النار من جانب النظام الإيراني جاء بعد ساعات من إطلاق القوات الإيرانية 5 طائرات مسيّرة هجومية انتحارية، شكلت تهديداً واضحاً في مضيق هرمز ومحيطه.
وأضاف البيان أن القوات الأمريكية نجحت في اعتراض جميع المسيّرات، كما منعت إطلاق طائرة مسيّرة سادسة من موقع تحكم أرضي إيراني في بندر عباس.
وأشارت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية إلى أنها تواصل، بالتعاون مع الشركاء الإقليميين، «التحلي باليقظة وضبط النفس، مع الاستمرار في الدفاع عن القوات والمصالح الأمريكية في مواجهة العدوان الإيراني غير المبرر».
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, condemned “in the strongest terms” the continuation of Iranian attacks on the State of Kuwait.
He clarified, in a statement, that “the continuation of these treacherous attacks constitutes a blatant violation of the principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness,” affirming the full support of the Council’s member states for the State of Kuwait in all measures it takes to maintain its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
The Gulf and Arab states condemned the Iranian attack on Kuwait, asserting that these terrorist assaults represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait and a threat to its security and stability.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command confirmed today (Thursday) that Iran’s breach of the ceasefire occurred just hours after it launched five drones in the Strait of Hormuz and its vicinity.
The U.S. Central Command stated in a statement that Iran launched a ballistic missile at 10:17 PM Eastern Time on May 27 (Thursday morning local time) towards Kuwait, confirming that Kuwaiti forces successfully intercepted it.
The statement clarified that this blatant violation of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime came hours after Iranian forces launched five suicide attack drones, which posed a clear threat in the Strait of Hormuz and its surroundings.
Additionally, the statement noted that U.S. forces successfully intercepted all the drones and prevented the launch of a sixth drone from an Iranian ground control site in Bandar Abbas.
The U.S. Central Command indicated that it continues, in cooperation with regional partners, “to remain vigilant and exercise restraint while continuing to defend U.S. forces and interests against unprovoked Iranian aggression.”
