يختتم المنتخب السعودي مبارياته الودية بمواجهة منتخب السنغال(الأربعاء) القادم، الساعة 2:00 صباحاً، على ملعب نادي سان أنطونيو لكرة القدم في مدينة سان أنطونيو بولاية تكساس في المعسكر الذي تحتضنه مدينة أوستن، في ختام المعسكر الإعدادي لكأس العالم 2026، التي ستبدأ الخميس القادم في الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا.
وأنهى مدرب الأخضر دونيس تحضيراته الفنية للقاء الودي الأخير ضد السنغال، بإجراء مناورة كروية على ملعب Q2 في مدينة أوستن اعتمد من خلالها على تطبيق اللاعبين للنهج الفني، والاستقرار على العناصر الأساسية التي سيخوض بها مواجهة السنغال، والتي تعتبر البروفة الأخيرة قبل خوض مواجهة منتخب الأوروغواي، الأربعاء 16 يونيو الجاري، الساعة 1:00 صباحاً، على ملعب هارد روك بمدينة ميامي، في أولى مباريات الأخضر ضمن دور المجموعات في كأس العالم القادمة، إذ يسعى المدرب دونيس للتركيز على الأسماء الأساسية التي سيدخل بها مواجهة الأوروغواي في المونديال القادم.
ويسعى المنتخب السعودي لتأكيد تفوقه على المنتخب السنغالي من خلال المواجهة الودية الثالثة في تاريخ مواجهات المنتخبين تاريخيا، إذ نجح الأخضر في الانتصار في اللقاءين الوديين بنتيجة (3-2)، الأول 17 سبتمبر 1998 باستاد الأمير محمد بن فهد بالدمام، والثاني 14 مايو 2002 باستاد الملك فهد الدولي بالرياض قبل كأس العالم 2002.
وكان منتخبنا الوطني خاض مباراتين وديتين في معسكر أمريكا ضمن البرنامج الإعدادي للمونديال القادم، الأولى أمام منتخب الإكوادور انتهت بخسارة الأخضر بنتيجة 1/2 سجل الهدف للمنتخب السعودي سلطان مندش، والثانية ضد منتخب بورتوريكو وكسب الأخضر بثلاثية نظيفة سجل الأهداف سلطان مندش، وعبدالله الحمدان، وسالم الدوسري.
