في الأزمات، تُختبر الدول بصون لغتها من الانفعال والارتباك. فالكلمة، حين تعنى بالوطن، ركن المشهد، وعدة الوعي، ودرع التماسك أمام عالم لا يغفر الخطأ.
والمملكة، بما تمثله من ثقل سياسي واقتصادي وديني، وبما تحتله من موقع في معادلات المنطقة، معنية أكثر من غيرها بأن يكون خطابها الوطني واضحاً، متزناً، وقادراً على التمييز بين التعبير عن الموقف الوطني، والانجرار إلى معارك الآخرين.
المسألة هنا، عن الحفاظ على خطاب يعرف ماذا يقول، ولماذا يقوله، وما الذي يمكن أن تترتب عليه كلماته. فالدول الواثقة تدرك أن الفضاء العام قد يتحوّل، في أوقات الأزمات، إلى ساحة لتضخيم الشائعات، وترويج الاستنتاجات المتعجلة، وإعادة تدوير المواقف بما يخدم أجندات لا علاقة لها بالمصلحة الوطنية.
وأول الحماية، حماية الحقيقة. ولأن المنصات تتسابق على اقتناص الانتباه؛ تصبح المعلومة الدقيقة أقل صخباً من الشائعة، ويبدو التريث أقل جاذبية من إطلاق الأحكام، أحياناً. غير أن الدولة لا تُقاس بما يقال عنها في الساعات الأولى للأحداث، وإنما بقدرتها على إدارة الوقائع وفهم مآلاتها. وكذلك الخطاب الوطني؛ يكتسب قوته من صلته بالحقيقة، وقدرته على تفسير المصالح والخيارات والتحديات، وليس من ارتفاع نبرته.
ولذا، فإن المسؤولية، على الإعلاميين والمواطنين، تشمل التحقق من المعلومات، والتمييز بين الخبر والتحليل، وبين الوقائع والتوقعات، علاوة على الدفاع عن الموقف السعودي. فالمعلومة الخاطئة لا تصبح صحيحة لأنها قيلت بحماسة وطنية، والمبالغة لا تتحول إلى إنجاز لأنها صيغت بلغة واثقة، إذ إن الدفاع عن الوطن بالمعلومة غير الدقيقة قد يمنح خصومه مادة مجانية، ويضعف صدقية الخطاب، الذي يراد له أن يكون حصيناً.
أما الحماية الثانية، فهي ألا يتحوّل الخطاب الوطني إلى رد فعل دائم. فمن طبيعة التوترات الإقليمية أن تستدرج الجمهور إلى الاصطفاف السريع، وأن تدفعه إلى قراءة كل حدث بوصفه معركة شخصية أو اختباراً للكرامة. لكن السياسة أكثر تعقيداً من هذا التقسيم الحاد بين أصدقاء وأعداء، والمصالح الوطنية لا تُدار بمنطق التعليقات المتعجلة. فالمملكة، وهي تدير علاقاتها في إقليم متغيّر، تحتاج إلى خطاب يستوعب تعقيد المصالح، ويترك للدبلوماسية مساحتها، ولا يحول كل اختلاف سياسي إلى خصومة واسعة.
وهنا تظهر أهمية التمييز بين الموقف الرسمي والاجتهاد الشخصي. ليس مطلوباً من الجميع أن يكرروا العبارة نفسها، ولا أن يتطابقوا في تقدير كل حدث، لكن المطلوب أن يظل النقاش داخل حدود المسؤولية، ولا يستدعي الانقسامات، التي لا تخدم استقرار المجتمع. فالوطنية ليست مسابقة في رفع الصوت. إنها قدرة على ضبطه حين يكون الصخب أسهل الخيارات.
وتأتي الحماية الثالثة من بناء مناعة اجتماعية ضد الاستقطاب. فالخطاب الوطني لا تصنعه المؤسسات الإعلامية وحدها، وإنما تشارك في تشكيله الأسرة والمدرسة والجامعة والمنصات الرقمية والمجالس العامة. وكلما اتسعت مساحة المعرفة بالتاريخ والمصالح والتحولات الدولية، تراجعت قابلية المجتمع للانقياد خلف خطاب عاطفي يختزل الوقائع في شعارات. ولا يكفي أن نطالب الناس بالتحقق من الأخبار؛ ينبغي أيضاً أن نتيح لهم مصادر موثوقة، ومعلومات واضحة.

Confident nations understand that the public space can turn, in times of crises, into a arena for amplifying rumors, promoting hasty conclusions, and recycling positions that serve agendas unrelated to national interest.

And because platforms compete to capture attention, accurate information becomes less noisy than rumors, and patience seems less attractive than making judgments at times. However, a nation is not measured by what is said about it in the first hours of events, but by its ability to manage realities and understand their implications. Therefore, the responsibility of journalists and citizens includes verifying information, distinguishing between news and analysis, between facts and expectations, in addition to defending the Saudi position. Incorrect information does not become correct simply because it is said with national enthusiasm, and exaggeration does not turn into an achievement just because it is articulated in confident language, as defending the homeland with inaccurate information may provide adversaries with free material and weaken the credibility of the discourse, which is intended to be robust.
The second line of defense is that national discourse should not turn into a constant reaction. In the current phase, the Kingdom needs a discourse that combines pride and balance; one that trusts its state and defends its interests without borrowing the language of its adversaries, and reads the region’s transformations with an open eye rather than a closed emotion. A discourse that understands that the strength of the state is not only demonstrated in its ability to respond but also in its ability to choose the appropriate response, determine its timing, and know when a word is necessary and when calculated silence is more effective.
Ultimately, national discourse is a house that preserves constants and opens doors to understanding, not a wall built to close windows. The more turbulent the region becomes, the greater the need for a Saudi language that recognizes the weight of the Kingdom, respects the intellect of its citizens, and does not allow noise to replace insight.
Nations are not protected solely by weapons, nor is their image preserved by fleeting campaigns; they are also protected by a society that knows how to differ without fracturing, a media that knows how to explain without misleading, and a citizen who understands that the word he writes today may become part of his nation’s memory tomorrow. Protecting the Saudi national discourse is not a justification; it is a building of trust, enriched by truth and the wisdom of insight, free from the noise of words.
