مثل ما ينشغل ربُّ أسرة صغيرة، يومياً بقوت عياله، ويجول في الأسواق لاستجلاب الرزق، مما سهّل الرحمان؛ وما أغرى به الشيطان؛ وهكذا طبع الإنسان؛ ولقمة العيش (عند البعض) لا تخضع لمعيار الحلال والحرام، بل معيارها الحرفنة والمهارة، بصرف النظر عن الحِلّيَة من عدمها، علماً بأن في الاعتماد الكُلي على القدرات خللاً عقائدياً؛ فالأرزاق كفلها الله للكل؛ وجعل في الأرض معايش (وجعلنا لكم فيها معايش ومن لستم له برازقين)، كما أن في الاعتزاز بالمواهب والفهلوة واستباحة مال الغير دون وجه حق؛ مغالطة أخلاقية؛ إذ إنه غالباً ما من نعمة موفورة إلا وإلى جانبها حقٌّ مُضيّع، كما قال الإمام علي رضي اللهُ عنه وكرّم وجهه.
وعالم السوق الذي نشهده اليوم، لم يكن بهذا التغوّل منذ نشأته، أو تشكّله؛ فهو وُلد تقليديّاً، بمقايضات بسيطة، ثم انتقل إلى بيع وشراء، وأخذ وإعطاء، ثم تطوّر الأمر إلى إقراض، ثم تمويل بفوائد، ثم تحوّل التاجر البسيط إلى مؤسس شركة، والشركة فتحت باب المساهمات، والمساهمات حقّقت الأرباح، وتجاوزت كل ما له جانب عقائدي، أو أخلاقي؛ وطوت أدبيات التعامل، تحت إبط (دعه يعبر دعه يمرّ).
وجدتُ مقولةً للرئيس الأمريكي الثاني والثلاثين (روزفلت) تؤكد على (ضرورة أن يتوحد عمل التجارة العالمية، وألا يتسبب أي إخفاق في عوق الحياة الاقتصادية، في كل بقاع المعمورة)، وهذا في الأربعينيات من القرن الماضي. والملاحظ منذ دخول الألفية الثالثة أن العالم تحول إلى شركة عملاقة، ذات مقرات رئيسية؛ وفروع طرفيّة؛ ذات أقسام وتخصصات ومهام عدة، ولأنه لا شركة ناجحة إلا بمجلس إدارة محترف، ولا إدارة محترفة إلا برأسمال محفّز، ولا رأسمال إلا بتمويلات ضخمة، فلابد من تشريعات تخدم الغاية القصوى للشركة، فيما تتمثل التحديات في نوعية الموظفين والموظفات، وهوى ورزالة وصلافة بعض العملاء والعميلات، ولذا تنتهج الشركة مرونة وجلافة لتغيير السوق، أو استبدال المنتجات، أو تغريم وتبديل العملاء.
والغالب على الظن؛ بأن العالَم تحوّل فعلياً إلى شركة، له حيثيات ومبررات، منها أن الأرقام غدت اللغة الغالبة على لسان السياسيين، فعقد الصفقات هاجس متجدد، ورفع الأسعار من لوازم تفادي الخسائر، وتعزيز الرساميل أمان للمستقبل، والتوسع في النشاط بفتح المزيد من الأسواق، يسهم في سرعة استهلاك منتهي الصلاحية.
ومن أخطر أقسام الشركة (الدعاية والإعلان) ثم (إدارة التسويق والمبيعات)، فأحياناً الشركة تبيع كلاماً، أو مواقف؛ ولخدمة العملاء فضل امتصاص وتنفيس ردود الأفعال، بعيداً عن سمع وبصر العضو المنتدب، أو المدير التنفيذي، الذي ينبغي المحافظة على نفسيته ومشاعره ولياقته ومزاجه ومحفظته.
هناك فضاء واسع؛ لا ناقة له ولا جمل فيما حدث ويحدث؛ وبحكم أن تفكيره منصب على ما يأكل ويشرب ويلبس؛ فالشركة تلبّي تطلعاته، وتحقق أحلامه الغريزية، ولا تبخل على نهمه؛ بل تحوّل كل ما هو قابل للتدوير إلى طعام وشراب ومتعة، وإن عبّر عن امتعاض ما؛ فلأنه أكل ما لم تتعوّد معدته عليه، أو لبس ما ليس على مقاسه، أو ارتدى ما يتنافى مع الذوق العام، وانتهك بروتوكول اللباقة الجمالية.
ولا تتأثر سياسات الشركة بسخط العمال، ولا باحتجاجات الزبائن، ومن مصلحة الشركة بين حين وآخر، افتعال إشكاليات، لرفع أسعار أو تخفيضها، ولا خلاف على أن الصوت الأقوى في مجلس إدارة الشركة، من نصيب مالك الحصص الأكبر من الأسهم، وبحسب حصته يؤثر في قرارات الإدارة، ويضيف ويحذف، ويجمّد ويُرقّي، ويُدني ويُقصِي.
مؤكد أن العالَم الشركة لا يقبل أن يخسر، وهو معني بالتعويض، وتقليل المخاطر، وتفادي الإشكال، وتحسين السُّمعة، ولا ريب أن الموظفين والموظفات المهرة يتبوؤون منزلة رفيعة، وهم محل التقدير، ولهم أولوية في الترقيات، خصوصاً الذين يحققون المستهدفات، ويرفعون نسبة الإنتاجية، ويلتمسون العذر للرئيس؛ ولا غنى للشركة عن التعامل مع قراصنة ولصوص وسماسرة، بالمجافاة تارة وبالمحاباة تارات، وأحياناً بالمواجهة الشكليّة أو الفعليّة، إذ لا تسمح شركة قوامها على مداخليها أن يعطّلها أو يعبث بها أو يتطاول على نظامها وآليات عملها؛ كائن من كان.
وعندما يغدو العالَم سوقاً أو شركة، غايتها المكاسب المالية؛ والربحية المستمرة، يتراجع خطابها المثالي، ويسقط إعلامها الذي طالما سوّق لعنايتها بالحقوق، وكفل حياة كريمة لكل عضو وموظف ومستفيد ومساهم. ومن الطبيعي أنه كلما غدا العالم شركة؛ أن ترتفع أسعار أسهمها؛ ويزيد تمويلها؛ وتتسع أنشطتها؛ وتتضاعف مواردها؛ وكلما تضخمت؛ تضاءلت مكانة الإنسان، إن لم يتحوّل نفسه إلى سلعة؛ بخسة الثمن.
Just as a small family’s head is preoccupied daily with providing for his dependents, roaming the markets to earn a living, facilitated by what the Merciful has made easy; and what the devil has tempted; thus is the nature of man; and for some, the bread of life does not adhere to the standards of what is lawful and unlawful, but rather to the standards of skill and expertise, regardless of its permissibility. It is known that relying entirely on one’s abilities leads to a doctrinal imbalance; for sustenance is guaranteed by God for all; and He has made livelihoods on earth (and We made for you therein livelihoods, and you are not its providers), just as pride in talents and cleverness and the unlawful appropriation of others’ wealth without right is a moral fallacy; for often, there is no abundant blessing without a neglected right alongside it, as Imam Ali, may God be pleased with him and honor his face, said.
The marketplace we witness today did not emerge with such rampant growth since its inception or formation; it was traditionally born, with simple barter, then transitioned to buying and selling, and giving and taking, before evolving into lending, then financing with interest. The simple merchant transformed into a company founder, and the company opened the door to contributions, which yielded profits, surpassing any doctrinal or ethical considerations; and it folded the ethics of dealing under the arm of (let it pass, let it go).
I found a saying from the thirty-second American president (Roosevelt) emphasizing (the necessity for global trade to unify, and that no failure should hinder economic life in all corners of the globe), and this was in the 1940s. It is noticeable since the dawn of the third millennium that the world has transformed into a giant company, with main headquarters; and peripheral branches; with various departments, specialties, and tasks. Since no successful company exists without a professional board of directors, and no professional management exists without motivating capital, and no capital exists without massive financing, there must be legislations that serve the ultimate goal of the company, while the challenges lie in the quality of employees, and the whims and rudeness of some clients; thus the company adopts flexibility and harshness to change the market, or to replace products, or to fine and substitute clients.
It is generally assumed that the world has indeed transformed into a company, with its reasons and justifications, one of which is that numbers have become the dominant language of politicians; thus, contract negotiations are a recurring obsession, and raising prices is a necessity to avoid losses, while enhancing capital is security for the future, and expanding activities by opening more markets contributes to the rapid consumption of expired goods.
Among the most dangerous sections of the company are (advertising and marketing management), as sometimes the company sells words or stances; and for customer service, it is preferable to absorb and defuse reactions, away from the hearing and sight of the executive member or CEO, who must maintain his psyche, feelings, fitness, mood, and wallet.
There exists a vast space; that has no camel or donkey in what has happened and is happening; and since his thinking is focused on what he eats, drinks, and wears; the company meets his aspirations and fulfills his primal dreams, and does not skimp on his appetite; rather, it transforms everything that is recyclable into food, drink, and pleasure, and if he expresses any dissatisfaction, it is because he ate something his stomach is not accustomed to, or wore something that does not fit him, or donned something that contradicts public taste, violating the protocol of aesthetic decorum.
The company’s policies are not affected by workers’ discontent, nor by customer protests, and it is in the company’s interest from time to time to fabricate issues, to raise or lower prices. There is no doubt that the strongest voice in the company’s board of directors belongs to the owner of the largest share of stocks, and according to his share, he influences management decisions, adding and deleting, freezing and promoting, bringing closer and excluding.
It is certain that the world as a company does not accept losing; it is concerned with compensation, minimizing risks, avoiding issues, and improving reputation. There is no doubt that skilled employees hold a high status, are appreciated, and have priority in promotions, especially those who meet targets, raise productivity rates, and seek excuses for the president; and the company cannot do without dealing with pirates, thieves, and brokers, sometimes with avoidance and sometimes with favoritism, and occasionally with formal or actual confrontation, as no company based on its revenues allows anyone to disrupt, tamper with, or encroach upon its system and mechanisms of operation; whoever they may be.
When the world becomes a market or a company, with the goal of financial gains and continuous profitability, its idealistic discourse recedes, and its media, which has long marketed its care for rights and guaranteed a dignified life for every member, employee, beneficiary, and shareholder, collapses. Naturally, as the world becomes a company, its stock prices rise; its financing increases; its activities expand; and its resources multiply; and the more it inflates, the smaller the status of man becomes, unless he transforms himself into a commodity; at a cheap price.
