أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الأربعاء) أن الولايات المتحدة هي من تسيطر على مضيق هرمز وليس إيران، واصفاً إيران بأنها «منتهية».
وكتب ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشال»: «في الشهر الماضي، وجهت قواتنا العسكرية الأمريكية العظيمة لتنفيذ مهمة سرية لدعم ناقلات النفط والسفن التجارية الأخرى عبر مضيق هرمز. اليوم، يسرني أن أعلن أن هذا الجهد أدى إلى مرور أكثر من 100 مليون برميل من النفط عبر المضيق إلى السوق العالمية، كما عبر أكثر من 200 سفينة تجارية بأمان خلاله».
وأضاف: «يعود هذا النجاح الكبير إلى أن الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية هي التي تسيطر على مضيق هرمز وليس إيران».
وأوضح ترمب أن جيش إيران مهزوم واقتصادها منهار، قائلاً: «جيشهم مهزوم، واقتصادهم منهار، لقد انتهى الأمر بالنسبة لإيران!».
وكان ترمب قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم إن إيران استغرقت وقتاً طويلاً للتفاوض على اتفاق مع الولايات المتحدة، وإنه سيتعين عليها الآن «دفع الثمن».
بدوره، قال وزير الدفاع الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث إن من غير الحكمة أن تمضي إيران في تحدي الولايات المتحدة، محذراً طهران من مواصلة التصعيد.
في المقابل، قال الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان إن طهران ستقف بحزم في وجه أي ضغط أو تهديد، زاعماً أن التهديد الأمريكي باستهداف البنية التحتية الإيرانية ليس استعراضاً للقوة، بل دليل على اليأس.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed today (Wednesday) that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran, describing Iran as “finished.”
Trump wrote on his platform “Truth Social”: “Last month, I directed our great U.S. military forces to carry out a secret mission to support oil tankers and other commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Today, I am pleased to announce that this effort has led to the passage of over 100 million barrels of oil through the strait to the global market, as well as over 200 commercial ships safely passing through it.”
He added: “This great success is due to the fact that the United States of America controls the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran.”
Trump explained that Iran’s military is defeated and its economy is in ruins, stating: “Their military is defeated, their economy is in shambles, it’s over for Iran!”
Earlier today, Trump said that Iran took too long to negotiate an agreement with the United States, and that it will now have to “pay the price.”
For his part, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that it would be unwise for Iran to continue challenging the United States, warning Tehran against further escalation.
In contrast, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran will firmly stand against any pressure or threat, claiming that the U.S. threat to target Iranian infrastructure is not a show of strength, but rather a sign of desperation.
