أعلن نادي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي، اليوم (الجمعة)، توقيع عقد جديد مع مدربه مايكل كاريك، بعد نجاحه في مهمته المؤقتة.
وكان كاريك قد تولى تدريب مانشستر يونايتد مؤقتاً في يناير الماضي، خلفاً للبرتغالي روبن أموريم، وحصل على جائزة أفضل مدرب في الدوري الإنجليزي للشهر بعد فوزه على مانشستر سيتي وأرسنال في أول مباراتين له على رأس الجهاز الفني، كما قاد «الشياطين الحمر» للتأهل إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا الموسم القادم، بتحقيقه 11 فوزاً من أصل 16 مباراة، محققاً بذلك أعلى رصيد من النقاط في البريميرليغ منذ توليه المسؤولية.
بيان النادي
وقال النادي في بيان: «يسر نادي مانشستر يونايتد أن يعلن أن مايكل كاريك سيستمر في منصبه كمدرب رئيسي للفريق الأول للرجال، بعد توقيعه عقداً جديداً يمتد حتى عام 2028».
كاريك يعلق على التجديد
من جانبه، قال كاريك عقب توقيع العقد: «على مدار الأشهر الخمسة الماضية، أظهرت هذه المجموعة من اللاعبين أنها قادرة على الوصول إلى معايير المرونة والتكاتف والتصميم التي نطالب بها هنا».
وأضاف: «حان الوقت الآن للمضي قدماً معاً مرة أخرى، بطموح وإحساس واضح بالهدف، مانشستر يونايتد وجماهيرنا الرائعة يستحقون المنافسة على أكبر الألقاب مجدداً».
ترتيب مانشستر يونايتد
ويحتل مانشستر يونايتد المركز الثالث في جدول الدوري الإنجليزي برصيد 68 نقطة، ويختتم موسمه بمواجهة برايتون يوم الأحد القادم.
Manchester United announced today (Friday) that they have signed a new contract with their coach Michael Carrick, following his success in the interim role.
Carrick took over as Manchester United’s interim manager last January, succeeding Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim. He was awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month after winning against Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two matches in charge. He also led the “Red Devils” to qualify for the Champions League next season, achieving 11 wins out of 16 matches, thus recording the highest points tally in the Premier League since taking over.
Club Statement
The club stated: “Manchester United is pleased to announce that Michael Carrick will continue in his role as head coach of the men’s first team after signing a new contract that runs until 2028.”
Carrick Comments on the Renewal
For his part, Carrick said after signing the contract: “Over the past five months, this group of players has shown that they are capable of reaching the standards of resilience, unity, and determination that we demand here.”
He added: “Now is the time to move forward together again, with ambition and a clear sense of purpose. Manchester United and our wonderful fans deserve to compete for the biggest trophies again.”
Manchester United’s Standing
Manchester United is currently in third place in the Premier League table with 68 points, and they will conclude their season with a match against Brighton next Sunday.
