The Saudi star Saud Abdulhamid will appear with the French team Lens in a match against the Portuguese Sporting Lisbon tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7:45 PM, as the first Saudi player to participate in the Champions League.
Abdulhamid missed his team’s match against Slavia Prague on Thursday, September 10, which ended with a victory for Lens with a score of 3-2 in the Champions League, due to a knee swelling injury. He returned to participate with Lens against Lyon last Friday in the French league, and the match ended with Lens winning 2-1.
The player’s first appearance in European competitions was through his participation with the Italian team Roma on September 26, 2024, against the Spanish team Athletic Bilbao in the first round of the Europa League for the 2024-2025 season. He came on as a substitute in the 71st minute of the match held at the Olimpico Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw, marking the player’s first imprint in the Italian team’s jersey in European competitions.
