أعلن الجيش الأمريكي اليوم (الإثنين) تنفيذ غارة على زورق يُشتبه في استخدامه لتهريب المخدرات في شرق المحيط الهادئ، ما أسفر عن مقتل 3 أشخاص، في رابع هجوم من هذا النوع خلال هذا الأسبوع، مؤكداً أن الغارة نُفذت السبت.
وذكرت القيادة الجنوبية الأمريكية أن الزورق كان متورطاً في عمليات تهريب مخدرات وتُديره منظمة إرهابية مصنفة، موضحة أن الضربة جاءت بتوجيه من الجنرال فرانسيس دونوفان، القائد الأعلى للقوات الأمريكية في أمريكا اللاتينية.
وتُعد هذه الغارة الأحدث في حملة مستمرة منذ أشهر ضد زوارق يُشتبه في تهريبها للمخدرات تجوب البحر الكاريبي وشرق المحيط الهادئ، وبمقتل 3 من المهربين يرتفع إجمالي عدد القتلى في هذا النوع من العمليات إلى 205 خلال 9 أشهر.
وذكرت إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة في حالة نزاع مسلح مع عصابات المخدرات في أمريكا اللاتينية، التي تتهمها بتدفق المخدرات إلى داخل الأراضي الأمريكية.
تأتي هذه التطورات في إطار تصعيد أمريكي متواصل ضد شبكات تهريب المخدرات البحرية في أمريكا اللاتينية، حيث كثفت واشنطن خلال الأشهر الأخيرة عملياتها العسكرية والاستخباراتية في البحر الكاريبي وشرق المحيط الهادئ.
وتشير تقديرات عسكرية إلى أن هذه العمليات تستهدف شبكات منظمة عابرة للحدود، تتهمها الولايات المتحدة بالارتباط بجماعات مصنفة على قوائم الإرهاب، ما يوسع نطاق التعامل معها من إطار أمني إلى إطار عسكري مباشر.
The U.S. military announced today (Monday) that it carried out a raid on a boat suspected of being used for drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific, resulting in the death of 3 individuals, marking the fourth such attack this week, confirming that the raid was conducted on Saturday.
The U.S. Southern Command reported that the boat was involved in drug trafficking operations and was operated by a designated terrorist organization, explaining that the strike was directed by General Francis Donovan, the top U.S. commander in Latin America.
This raid is the latest in a campaign that has been ongoing for months against boats suspected of drug trafficking that traverse the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific, with the death of 3 traffickers bringing the total number of fatalities in such operations to 205 over 9 months.
The administration of President Donald Trump stated that the United States is in an armed conflict with drug cartels in Latin America, which it accuses of flooding drugs into U.S. territory.
These developments come as part of a continuous U.S. escalation against maritime drug trafficking networks in Latin America, as Washington has intensified its military and intelligence operations in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific in recent months.
Military estimates indicate that these operations target organized transnational networks, which the United States accuses of being linked to groups designated on terrorism lists, thereby expanding the scope of engagement from a security framework to a direct military framework.
