أوضحالأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربيةجاسم محمد البديوي، أنه نظرًا لاستمرار ميليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية في محاولاتها لاستهداف المملكة العربية السعودية وأعيانها المدنية، بما يهدد أمن وسلامة المدنيين الآمنين، ونظرًا لتمديد تعليق العمليات التشغيلية في مطار الملك خالد الدولي، وحرصًا على سلامة الوفود المشاركة، فقد أعلنت الأمانة العامة للمجلس إعادة جدولة موعد القمة الخليجية – الأوروبية، المقرر انعقادها في مدينة الرياض يوم 24 أكتوبر 2026م، إلى موعد آخر يتم التوافق عليه لاحقًا بين الجانب الخليجي والجانب الأوروبي.
وأكد الأمين العام للمجلس عزم مجلس التعاون والاتحاد الأوروبي على العمل لتهيئة الظروف المناسبة لعقد القمة، بما يخدم أهدافهما طويلة المدى في تعزيز واستكمال مسيرة التعاون في العديد من الجوانب بينهما، وبما يحقق النمو والازدهار لدولهما وشعوبهما.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, clarified that due to the continued attempts by the terrorist Houthi militia to target the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its civilian entities, which threatens the safety and security of innocent civilians, and in light of the extension of the suspension of operational activities at King Khalid International Airport, and out of concern for the safety of the participating delegations, the General Secretariat of the Council has announced the rescheduling of the Gulf-European summit, originally set to be held in Riyadh on October 24, 2026, to a later date to be agreed upon between the Gulf and European sides.
The Secretary-General of the Council affirmed the determination of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union to work towards creating the appropriate conditions for holding the summit, in a manner that serves their long-term goals of enhancing and completing the cooperation journey in various aspects between them, and achieving growth and prosperity for their countries and peoples.
