The Algerian star Riyad Mahrez scored his first goal with Al-Shamal against Qatar in the match that took place yesterday (Friday), as part of the seventh round of the Qatari league.
Mahrez joined Al-Shamal in mid-October for one season in a free transfer after leaving Al-Ahli.
Goal from a Penalty
Mahrez’s goal came from a penalty that he executed powerfully to the right of the Qatar goalkeeper in the 65th minute, but his team lost the match 3-2, despite coming back after being two goals down.
Mahrez Faces Al-Ahli in November
Al-Shamal is scheduled to meet Al-Ahli on November 23, in the AFC Champions League for elite teams, in a match that will be emotional for the Algerian star, who has written history in golden letters with the “Raqi” jersey.
Distinguished Career with Al-Ahli
It is worth noting that Al-Ahli ended its contract with Riyad Mahrez last July, after three seasons that the Algerian winger spent with the “Raqi,” during which he won the AFC Champions League title twice and the Saudi Super Cup.
During his time with Al-Ahli, Mahrez participated in 122 matches across various competitions, scoring 37 goals and providing 50 assists.
