أفصحت مجلة «ذا أتلانتك»، أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب يشعر بـ«الملل» بشأن حرب إيران، معتبرةً أنها «لم تسر وفق توقعاته»، فبينما يعلن انتصارات متتالية، يسود القلق والتردد خلف الأبواب المغلقة داخل البيت الأبيض، وسط تحدٍّ يتمثل في كيفية إنهاء الصراع في ظل تعنّت طهران ورفضها تقديم التنازلات.
رغبة في إنهاء الحرب
ونقلت عن مسؤولين أمريكيين تأكيدهم أن الرئيس ترمب بات يرغب بشدة في إنهاء الحرب، بعدما طالت أكثر مما كان يتوقع، وتحولت إلى عبء سياسي واقتصادي قبل انتخابات التجديد النصفي وزيارته المرتقبة إلى الصين الأسبوع القادم.
وفي تقرير نشرته المجلة، أمس الجمعة، نقلت عن 5 من مساعدي ترمب ومستشاريه الخارجيين قولهم: إن الرئيس مقتنع بأنه قادر على تسويق أي اتفاق مع إيران باعتباره انتصاراً، حتى لو لم يحقق كل الأهداف التي أعلنتها إدارته منذ بداية الحرب، وفي مقدمتها تقليص البرنامج النووي وتغيير سلوك طهران الإقليمي.
وبحسب التقرير، لم يكن ترمب يتوقع أن تنتهي الحرب بهذا الشكل، إذ قال لمقربين منه بعد العملية العسكرية التي أطاحت بالرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو إن إيران ستكون «فنزويلا أخرى»، وفق ما نقلته المجلة عن مستشارين خارجيين له.
وكان ترمب يعتقد، أن التفوق العسكري الأمريكي سيحسم المعركة خلال أيام أو أسابيع قليلة.
تهدئة قبيل زيارة الصين
وذكرت «ذي أتلانتيك»، أن الحصار البحري الذي فرضته واشنطن على الموانئ الإيرانية بدأ يضغط على الاقتصاد الإيراني، وأن مسؤولين في الإدارة يتوقعون أن تضطر طهران في النهاية إلى العودة إلى طاولة المفاوضات.
بيد أن تقديرات استخباراتية، تشير إلى أن إيران قد تكون قادرة على تحمل ضغط الحصار لأشهر، وهو ما يطيل أمد الأزمة ويزيد أثرها على أسعار الطاقة في الولايات المتحدة والغرب.
وحسب مستشارين لترمب، فإنه يريد تهدئة أي تصعيد عسكري قبل زيارته المرتقبة إلى الصين الأسبوع القادم، في حين يزيد استنفاد الولايات المتحدة إلى حدٍّ كبير قائمة أهدافها العسكرية المهمة في إيران من تعقيد الخيارات المتاحة أمام واشنطن.
كل الخيارات مطروحة
وأوضحت أن إعلان النصر من دون اتفاق رسمي قد يترك أهداف الحرب الأساسية دون تحقق، في ظل استمرار جزء كبير من القدرات الصاروخية الإيرانية وبقاء ملفها النووي من دون تسوية.
ورداً على التقرير، أكدت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض أوليفيا ويلز أن الرئيس ترمب «يمتلك جميع أوراق القوة»، وتبقى كل الخيارات مطروحة لضمان ألا تمتلك إيران سلاحاً نووياً. وأضافت أن الحصار الناجح للغاية يخنق الاقتصاد الإيراني، وأن الولايات المتحدة أثبتت تفوقها البري والبحري والجوي.

Desire to End the War
It reported that U.S. officials confirmed that President Trump is now very eager to end the war, as it has lasted longer than he expected and has turned into a political and economic burden ahead of the midterm elections and his upcoming visit to China next week.
In a report published by the magazine yesterday, Friday, it quoted five of Trump’s aides and external advisors saying that the president is convinced he can market any agreement with Iran as a victory, even if it does not achieve all the goals his administration announced at the beginning of the war, foremost among them reducing the nuclear program and changing Tehran’s regional behavior.
According to the report, Trump did not expect the war to end this way, as he told close associates after the military operation that ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro that Iran would be “another Venezuela,” according to what the magazine reported from his external advisors.
Trump believed that American military superiority would settle the battle within days or a few weeks.
Calming Before the Visit to China
The Atlantic mentioned that the naval blockade imposed by Washington on Iranian ports has begun to pressure the Iranian economy, and that officials in the administration expect Tehran will eventually have to return to the negotiating table.
However, intelligence estimates indicate that Iran may be able to withstand the pressure of the blockade for months, which prolongs the crisis and increases its impact on energy prices in the United States and the West.
According to Trump’s advisors, he wants to calm any military escalation before his anticipated visit to China next week, while the U.S. military’s significant depletion of its important military objectives in Iran complicates the options available to Washington.
All Options Are on the Table
It clarified that declaring victory without a formal agreement may leave the fundamental objectives of the war unachieved, as a large part of Iran’s missile capabilities continues to exist and its nuclear file remains unresolved.
In response to the report, White House spokesperson Olivia Wells confirmed that President Trump “holds all the cards of power,” and all options remain on the table to ensure that Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. She added that the highly successful blockade is choking the Iranian economy, and that the United States has proven its superiority on land, at sea, and in the air.
