أعلنت النيابة العامة المصرية، أمس (السبت)، إحالة الطبيبة أمنية سويدان إلى المحاكمة الجنائية على خلفية اتهامها بنشر أخبار كاذبة عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، بعد تحقيقات أجرتها بشأن منشورات تناولت مزاعم بوقوع تجاوزات أخلاقية ومهنية داخل مستشفى الشاطبي التابع لجامعة الإسكندرية.
وأوضحت النيابة، في بيان رسمي، أنها تابعت ما أُثير على منصات التواصل ووسائل الإعلام بشأن تلك الادعاءات، قبل أن تبدأ تحقيقاتها عقب تلقي بلاغ من مدير الشؤون القانونية بمستشفيات جامعة الإسكندرية. وخلال الاستماع إلى أقواله، أكد عدم ورود أي شكاوى أو بلاغات من مريضات تتعلق بالوقائع المتداولة.
كما استعانت النيابة بفحص فني للحساب الإلكتروني الذي نشر المحتوى محل الجدل، وأسفرت التحريات التقنية عن تحديد هوية صاحبة الحساب.
وخلال التحقيقات، أقرت المتهمة بملكية الحساب وكتابة المنشور موضوع القضية، موضحة أنها تخرجت في كلية الطب وأمضت فترة التدريب الإلزامي بمستشفيات جامعة الإسكندرية بين 2020 و2021، من بينها شهران بقسم النساء والتوليد. وأضافت أنها شاهدت خلال تلك الفترة بعض الممارسات الطبية التي اعتقدت، بحكم قلة خبرتها آنذاك، أنها غير معتادة أو تتجاوز ما يُسمح به طبياً.
وأفادت أيضاً بأن جزءاً من المعلومات التي تضمنها المنشور لم تستند فيه إلى مشاهدات مباشرة، بل إلى روايات نقلها إليها آخرون، دون أن تتمكن من التحقق من صحتها أو تحديد مصادرها بشكل دقيق.
وذكرت المتهمة أنها غادرت المجال الطبي بعد انتهاء فترة التكليف واتجهت للعمل في مجال السينما، مؤكدة عدم امتلاكها أي بيانات عن الحالات التي أشارت إليها في منشورها أو القدرة على الاستدلال عليها. كما أقرت بأن المنشور حظي بتفاعل واسع وساهم في زيادة عدد التعليقات والمشاركات على صفحتها بموقع «فيسبوك».
وبناءً على نتائج التحقيقات، قررت النيابة العامة إحالة المتهمة إلى المحاكمة الجنائية بتهمة نشر أخبار كاذبة من شأنها الإضرار بالأمن العام عبر شبكة المعلومات، إلى جانب استخدام حساباً إلكترونياً في ارتكاب الجريمة محل الاتهام.
The Egyptian Public Prosecution announced yesterday (Saturday) the referral of Dr. Omnia Souidan to criminal trial following accusations of spreading false news via social media, after investigations were conducted regarding posts that addressed allegations of ethical and professional violations within the Shatby Hospital affiliated with Alexandria University.
The prosecution clarified in an official statement that it monitored what was raised on social media platforms and in the media regarding these allegations, before starting its investigations after receiving a report from the Director of Legal Affairs at Alexandria University Hospitals. During the hearing of his statements, he confirmed that no complaints or reports had been received from patients related to the circulated incidents.
The prosecution also relied on a technical examination of the electronic account that published the contentious content, and the technical investigations resulted in identifying the owner of the account.
During the investigations, the accused admitted to owning the account and writing the post in question, explaining that she graduated from medical school and spent her mandatory training period at Alexandria University Hospitals between 2020 and 2021, including two months in the obstetrics and gynecology department. She added that she witnessed some medical practices during that period that she believed, due to her limited experience at the time, were unusual or exceeded what is medically permissible.
She also stated that part of the information included in the post was not based on direct observations, but rather on accounts relayed to her by others, without being able to verify their accuracy or identify their sources precisely.
The accused mentioned that she left the medical field after completing her assignment and turned to work in the cinema industry, confirming that she did not possess any data about the cases she referred to in her post or the ability to identify them. She also acknowledged that the post received wide interaction and contributed to an increase in the number of comments and shares on her Facebook page.
Based on the results of the investigations, the Public Prosecution decided to refer the accused to criminal trial on charges of spreading false news that could harm public security via the information network, in addition to using an electronic account to commit the crime in question.
