دعت باكستان، اليوم (الخميس)، إلى التوصل لتسوية تفاوضية بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، مؤكدة أن مسؤوليها سيواصلون جهود الوساطة رغم التصعيد الأخير.
وقال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية طاهر أندرابي للصحفيين: «تشعر باكستان بقلق بالغ إزاء الوضع في المنطقة في ظل التصعيد الأخير، ونرى أن الدبلوماسية والحوار يجب أن يكونا المبدأين التوجيهيين للتوصل إلى تسوية تفاوضية لجميع القضايا الخلافية».
في غضون ذلك، نقلت شبكة «سي إن إن» عن مصدر دبلوماسي قوله إن المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران لا تزال على مسارها بهدف التوصل إلى اتفاق، وذلك عقب مفاوضات استمرت طوال الليل، موضحاً أن النقاشات تواصلت رغم تبادل الضربات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران خلال الليل، وهو ما كان من شأنه تعقيد الجهود الدبلوماسية.
وغادر وفد قطري طهران صباح اليوم عائداً إلى الدوحة بعد مفاوضات استمرت طوال الليل وحتى ساعات الصباح.
في المقابل، قالت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إن الهجمات الأخيرة جعلت وقف إطلاق النار بلا معنى.
وأنهت الولايات المتحدة ليلة ثانية من الضربات على إيران بعد استهداف ما قالت إنها مواقع رادار وأبراج اتصالات عسكرية داخل البلاد.
وعادت واشنطن إلى تصعيد ضرباتها ضد إيران بعدما أسقطت طهران مروحية «أباتشي» أمريكية قرب مضيق هرمز، يوم (الثلاثاء)، وهو ما ردت عليه واشنطن بسلسلة من الضربات العسكرية.
وأعرب الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب عن إحباطه إزاء ما وصفه بمماطلة إيران في إبرام اتفاق، متعهداً بأن تدفع طهران ثمن هذا التأخير.
كما وجهت الولايات المتحدة تحذيراً إلى إيران، مؤكدة أنه «لو قُتل طيارا المروحية، لكنا اليوم أمام وضع مختلف تماماً».
Pakistan called today (Thursday) for a negotiated settlement between the United States and Iran, affirming that its officials will continue mediation efforts despite the recent escalation.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi told reporters: “Pakistan is deeply concerned about the situation in the region in light of the recent escalation, and we believe that diplomacy and dialogue should be the guiding principles for reaching a negotiated settlement on all contentious issues.”
Meanwhile, CNN reported a diplomatic source stating that talks between the United States and Iran are still on track to reach an agreement, following overnight negotiations, explaining that discussions continued despite the exchange of strikes between the United States and Iran during the night, which could complicate diplomatic efforts.
A Qatari delegation left Tehran this morning returning to Doha after negotiations that lasted throughout the night and into the morning hours.
In contrast, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the recent attacks rendered the ceasefire meaningless.
The United States concluded a second night of strikes on Iran after targeting what it described as radar sites and military communication towers within the country.
Washington escalated its strikes against Iran after Tehran shot down an American Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, to which Washington responded with a series of military strikes.
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed frustration over what he described as Iran’s procrastination in reaching an agreement, pledging that Tehran would pay the price for this delay.
The United States also issued a warning to Iran, stating that “if the helicopter pilots had been killed, we would be facing a completely different situation today.”
