The President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, Engineer Amin Nasser, confirmed that the company achieved strong results during the third quarter of 2026, despite the unprecedented disruptions and challenges faced by the energy sector, noting that the resilience of the local supply chain network contributed to enhancing business continuity and maintaining operational performance. This was reported by “Al Arabiya Business,” explaining that Aramco has the ability to implement emergency reforms at a speed approximately six times faster than its peers.
The company’s preliminary financial results showed a net income attributable to shareholders of 137.39 billion riyals during the third quarter of 2026, compared to 97.26 billion riyals for the same period last year, representing a growth of 41.26%. The adjusted net income reached 117 billion riyals, with adjustments primarily related to gains from sales and exclusions, as well as adjustments for zakat and taxes.
Operational Resilience and Rapid Recovery
Nasser explained that Aramco successfully accelerated the recovery of affected assets while adhering to the highest safety standards, which supported operational reliability and enhanced the company’s ability to meet global market needs amid the exceptional circumstances faced by the sector.
He added that the company increased liquid production by 15% compared to the previous quarter, indicating the efficiency of its operational system and the flexibility of its infrastructure, noting that these efforts also contributed to increasing shipments and achieving higher export levels.
Continued Supplies Despite Challenges
Nasser pointed out that Aramco continued to implement its operational plans efficiently despite attacks targeting some energy facilities, confirming the company’s success in maintaining supply reliability for local and global markets.
He noted that the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and attacks on major energy facilities contributed to deepening the global supply crisis; however, the dedication of the workforce, the excellence of operations, and the strength of the supply chain network built by the company over decades enabled it to meet customer needs during one of the most challenging periods in the sector.
Strategic Projects and Export Options
Nasser explained that Aramco continues to explore additional storage capacities outside the Kingdom and develop alternative export routes, enhancing the flexibility of the global supply system. He also confirmed that the company’s strong financial position has allowed it to continue implementing priority strategic projects, alongside expanding the use of advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and create new growth opportunities.
He indicated that the company is working to increase the capacity of the East-West pipeline to ten million barrels per day, compared to about seven million barrels currently, as part of its efforts to enhance export flexibility and diversify supply channels.
Regarding external storage, Nasser clarified that Aramco has a wide network of storage facilities in strategic locations, including South Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, and the Sidi Kerir port in Egypt, stating that the company is working with its partners to expand these capabilities, especially in Asian markets that account for the largest share of its exports.
He added that the Saudi Ministry of Energy is collaborating with several countries to enable Aramco to benefit from their strategic storage facilities, enhancing supply security and the flexibility of the company’s global network, anticipating a growth in demand for oil liquids during 2027 by about 2.4 million barrels per day.
