دعا الأمين العام الأسبق لجامعة الدول العربية ووزير الخارجية المصري الأسبق، عمرو موسى، إلى تحرك عربي عاجل وموحد لمواجهة الاعتداءات التي تتعرض لها المملكة العربية السعودية، محذراً من خطورة التهديدات التي تواجه الأمن العربي بأسره، ومطالباً بعقد اجتماع فوري لوزراء الخارجية العرب في الرياض، باعتباره مجلس أمن عربي، تمهيداً لعقد قمة عربية عاجلة للتوافق على موقف استراتيجي شامل إزاء الأزمات التي تشهدها المنطقة.
جاء ذلك في بيان نشره موسى عبر حساباته على منصتي «إكس» و«فيسبوك»، قال فيه:
تتعرض المملكة العربية السعودية حالياً لاعتداء سافر على سيادتها وأمنها، وهو جزء من تهديد مباشر للأمن العربي بأسره. وأقول بوضوح: إن أمن السعودية وسيادتها يجب أن يعتبر خطاً أحمر، والاعتداء عليها لا يجوز أن يقابل بيانات الإدانة والتضامن فقط.
وأضاف: آن الأوان لأن يدرك الجميع في العالم العربي أن ما يواجهونه من تحديات ومخاطر يفرض تجاوز خلافاتهم، مهما بلغت، أو تأجيلها أو تجميدها؛ والانتقال فوراً إلى موقف عربي حاسم وعملي، إنها فرصة، بل ضرورة تاريخية، لإعادة بناء التضامن على أساس المصالح والفهم الصحيح لخطورة الموقف بالنسبة للمجموع العربي.
وتابع الأمين العام الأسبق لجامعة الدول العربية: نحن أمام لحظة نكون فيها أو لا نكون. فإما أن نتحمل مسؤولية الدفاع عن أمننا وسيادتنا ونصوغ مستقبل المنطقة، وإما أن نترك للآخرين تقرير مصائرنا ورسم خرائط مستقبلنا، وهو ما لا يجوز أبداً.
وطالب عمرو موسى بعقد اجتماع فوري لوزراء الخارجية العرب في الرياض باعتباره مجلس أمن عربي، تأكيداً للتضامن العربي الصريح مع المملكة العربية السعودية والخليج العربي كله، واتخاذاً لموقف جماعي واضح وفاعل لوقف حالة الفوضى التي تجتاح المنطقة، وأن يمهد هذا الاجتماع لقمة عربية عاجلة، للتوافق على موقف عربي استراتيجي شامل إزاء التحديات القائمة على مختلف الجبهات؛ من الأوضاع في الخليج العربي، إلى القضية الفلسطينية وما تتعرض له من محاولات لتصفيتها، مروراً بأزمات المشرق والمغرب العربي والبحر الأحمر والقرن الأفريقي.
وقال موسى، إن المطلوب اليوم ليس إدارة الأزمات كلٌّ على حدة، ولا الاكتفاء بردود الأفعال، وإنما بلورة موقف عربي يعيد للعرب زمام المبادرة ويؤكد أنهم لديهم القدرة على تقرير مستقبل المنطقة.
واختتم تصريحاته بالتأكيد على أن ما يحدث إنما هي هجمة شاملة ومن ثم هي لحظة قرار، لا لحظة انتظار. وليكن الاعتداء على الرياض، بل والخليج كله، نقطة انطلاق لتحرك عربي جاد يعيد الاعتبار للعرب ويطلق قدراتهم.
The former Secretary-General of the Arab League and former Egyptian Foreign Minister, Amr Moussa, called for an urgent and unified Arab action to confront the assaults faced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, warning of the seriousness of the threats to Arab security as a whole, and demanding an immediate meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Riyadh, considering it an Arab Security Council, in preparation for an urgent Arab summit to agree on a comprehensive strategic position regarding the crises in the region.
This came in a statement published by Moussa on his accounts on the platforms “X” and “Facebook,” in which he said:
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently facing a blatant assault on its sovereignty and security, which is part of a direct threat to Arab security as a whole. And I say clearly: The security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia must be considered a red line, and any assault on it should not be met with mere statements of condemnation and solidarity.
He added: It is time for everyone in the Arab world to realize that the challenges and dangers they face necessitate overcoming their differences, no matter how great, or postponing or freezing them; and to immediately move to a decisive and practical Arab position. It is an opportunity, indeed a historical necessity, to rebuild solidarity based on interests and a correct understanding of the seriousness of the situation for the Arab collective.
The former Secretary-General of the Arab League continued: We are at a moment where we either exist or do not exist. Either we take responsibility for defending our security and sovereignty and shape the future of the region, or we leave it to others to determine our fates and draw the maps of our future, which is absolutely unacceptable.
Amr Moussa called for an immediate meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Riyadh, considering it an Arab Security Council, to affirm clear Arab solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the entire Gulf region, and to take a clear and effective collective stance to stop the chaos sweeping the region, and for this meeting to pave the way for an urgent Arab summit to agree on a comprehensive strategic Arab position regarding the existing challenges on various fronts; from the situations in the Arabian Gulf, to the Palestinian cause and the attempts to liquidate it, passing through the crises in the Mashreq and Maghreb, the Red Sea, and the Horn of Africa.
Moussa stated that what is required today is not to manage crises one by one, nor to be satisfied with reactive responses, but rather to formulate an Arab position that restores to the Arabs the initiative and confirms that they have the ability to determine the future of the region.
He concluded his statements by emphasizing that what is happening is a comprehensive assault, and thus it is a moment of decision, not a moment of waiting. Let the assault on Riyadh, and indeed the entire Gulf, be a starting point for serious Arab action that restores dignity to the Arabs and unleashes their capabilities.
