After the summer season ends and repeated exposure to sunlight, many women notice a change in skin color and the appearance of tanning, which may last for weeks after the summer holidays. With the return to moderate weather, focusing on restoring an even skin tone becomes part of the skincare routine.
The first step begins with regular moisturizing, as using creams rich in ceramides and hyaluronic acid helps support the skin barrier and reduce dryness that may accompany sun exposure. It is also recommended to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher daily, even after summer ends, to limit the persistence of pigmentation and the appearance of new tanning.
Light chemical exfoliation using acids such as lactic acid and glycolic acid is one of the options that help remove dead cells and gradually improve the appearance of uneven skin tone. These products can be incorporated into the routine at a rate of once or twice a week, depending on skin tolerance, while avoiding overuse to prevent irritation.
There are a number of effective ingredients that can help lighten pigmentation, most notably niacinamide, which supports skin tone uniformity, vitamin C known for its antioxidant properties, and azelaic acid, which helps improve the appearance of dark spots. It is preferable to choose products suitable for skin type and introduce them gradually.
Tanning is not limited to the face; it can also be clearly visible on the arms, shoulders, and legs, so the skin of the body needs similar care through daily moisturizing and the use of gentle body scrubs, while avoiding strong scrubbing and homemade mixtures that may cause skin irritation.
