مع كل موسم حج، أطرب بالكتابة عن علاقة الإنسان السعودي بالحجاج؛ هذه العلاقة الشغوفة والمليئة بكل معاني الإنسانية والقدسية، حيث يعيش السعودي حالة من الشوق والسرور لاستقبال حجاج بيت الله الحرام وخدمتهم في أداء مناسكهم، فتمتلئ مكة المكرمة بالسعوديين القادمين من شمال المملكة وجنوبها وشرقها وغربها من أجل التسابق إلى خدمة ضيوف الرحمن.
موسم الحج في السعودية لا يشبه المواسم الأخرى؛ فهو الزمن الذي يشعر فيه الناس أن البلاد كلها تتحرك بقلب واحد، ليس لأن الحشود كبيرة فقط، وإنما لأن المشهد نفسه يشعل شيئًا قديمًا داخل الإنسان السعودي؛ شيئًا تربّى عليه دون أن يتعلّمه بشكل مباشر، وهو أن ضيف الحرمين ليس عابر سبيل، بل أمانة ومحبة ودعوة تمشي على الأرض.
لهذا لا تبدو خدمة الحجاج هنا عملاً رسميًا بقدر ما تبدو علاقة شخصية جدًا. فالسعودي يتعامل مع الحاج وكأنه يعرفه منذ زمن؛ يسأله إن كان متعبًا، ويفسح له الطريق بعفوية، ويركض ليشرح له اتجاهًا، ويشعر بارتياح داخلي غريب حين يرى الطمأنينة تعود إلى وجهه، وكأن راحة الحاج تنعكس مباشرة على قلب من يخدمه.
في مواسم الحج، يظهر الوجه الحقيقي للناس بعيدًا عن كل شيء آخر؛ فتجد شابًا يقف ساعات طويلة يوزع الماء دون أن ينتظر كلمة شكر، ورجلًا مسنًّا يدعو للحجاج كأنهم أبناؤه، وأمًّا تتابع نشرات الحج بلهفة وكأن أحد أفراد عائلتها هناك. حتى الأطفال يكبرون وهم يسمعون أن خدمة الحاج شرف، وأن الدعوة الصادقة من غريب قد تفتح للإنسان أبواب الخير كلها.
ما يميّز الإنسان السعودي في الحج أنه لا يشعر بأنه يقدّم معروفًا لأحد، إنما يشعر أن وجوده قرب هذه الرحلة العظيمة نعمة تخصّه هو، كتبها الله له كي يحظى بالأجر؛ لذلك يفرح بالموسم رغم التعب، ويشتاق إليه بعد انتهائه، ويشعر أن للحج روحًا مختلفة لا يمكن أن يفهمها تمامًا إلا من عاش تفاصيلها عن قرب.
ربما لهذا يعود ملايين الحجاج إلى بلادهم وهم يتذكرون شيئًا أبسط وأعمق من المباني والتنظيم؛ يتذكرون الإنسان السعودي نفسه، بهدوئه، وكرمه، وتلك المحبة التي تظهر في التفاصيل الصغيرة دون ضجيج.
ختامًا.. تظل خدمة حجاج بيت الله الحرام شرفًا للمواطن السعودي في ظل قيادته الرشيدة التي سخّرت كل غالٍ ونفيس لراحة الحجاج.
With every Hajj season, I am inspired to write about the relationship between the Saudi people and the pilgrims; this passionate relationship is filled with all meanings of humanity and sanctity, as Saudis experience a sense of longing and joy in welcoming the guests of Allah and serving them in their rituals. Mecca is filled with Saudis coming from the north, south, east, and west of the kingdom, racing to serve the guests of the Most Merciful.
The Hajj season in Saudi Arabia is unlike any other season; it is the time when people feel that the entire country moves with one heart, not only because the crowds are large, but because the scene itself ignites something ancient within the Saudi soul; something they were raised on without learning it directly, which is that the guests of the Two Holy Mosques are not just passing travelers, but a trust, love, and a call that walks on earth.
Therefore, serving the pilgrims here does not seem like an official duty as much as it appears to be a very personal relationship. The Saudi treats the pilgrim as if he has known him for a long time; he asks if he is tired, clears the way for him spontaneously, runs to explain directions, and feels a strange internal comfort when he sees tranquility return to the pilgrim’s face, as if the comfort of the pilgrim directly reflects on the heart of the one serving him.
During the Hajj seasons, the true face of people emerges, away from everything else; you find a young man standing for long hours distributing water without expecting a word of thanks, an elderly man praying for the pilgrims as if they were his own children, and a mother eagerly following the Hajj news as if one of her family members were there. Even children grow up hearing that serving the pilgrim is an honor, and that a sincere invitation from a stranger can open all doors of goodness for a person.
What distinguishes the Saudi person during Hajj is that he does not feel he is doing a favor for anyone; rather, he feels that his presence near this great journey is a blessing meant for him, written by Allah for him to earn reward; therefore, he rejoices in the season despite the fatigue, longs for it after it ends, and feels that Hajj has a different spirit that can only be fully understood by those who have lived its details up close.
Perhaps this is why millions of pilgrims return to their countries remembering something simpler and deeper than the buildings and organization; they remember the Saudi person himself, with his calmness, generosity, and that love which appears in small details without noise.
In conclusion, serving the guests of Allah’s House remains an honor for the Saudi citizen under his wise leadership, which has dedicated all that is precious and valuable for the comfort of the pilgrims.
