هناك أشياء صغيرة، وقد تكون غير مرئية في تفاصيل يومنا، لا ننتبه إلى أثرها ولا نراها إلا حالما تتغيّر، من بينها ذلك الصباح الذي يبدأ على عجل، والوقت الذي يضيع بين الدائري الثالث والرابع وإشارات المرور المزدحمة بألوان السيارات الصارخة والهادئة، والالتزامات اليومية التي تجعل كثيرين يشعرون أنهم يركضون طوال اليوم بشغفٍ منطفئ، دون أن يجدوا مساحة كافية لأنفسهم أو لأسرهم.
ومع التحوّلات التي نشهدها اليوم في بيئات العمل، لم يعد النجاح مرتبطًا بعدد الساعات التي نقضيها خلف المكاتب، بقدر ما أصبح مرتبطًا بما نحققه من نتائج وأثر وجودة في الأداء والإبداع، وهنا تكمن أهمية الدوام المرن كأحد النماذج الحديثة التي تعكس فهمًا أكثر عمقًا لاحتياجات الإنسان ومتطلبات الحياة التي صارت أسرع من لمح البصر.

كما أرى اليوم من المهم ألا تبقى هذه التجربة محصورة في مدينة الرياض أو في عدد محدود من الجهات، بل أن تمتد إلى مختلف مناطق المملكة ومدنها ومحافظاتها، وأن تشمل القطاعين الحكومي والخاص على حد سواء؛ ففوائد الدوام المرن لا ترتبط بمدينة دون أخرى، ولا بقطاع دون غيره، بل هي فرصة لتحسين جودة الحياة لملايين العاملين وأسرهم في مختلف أنحاء الوطن.
كما أرى أنه آن الأوان أن نعيد النظر في الطريقة التي نقيس بها نجاح العمل؛ فالسؤال الأهم لم يعد: كم ساعة أمضى الموظف في مكتبه؟ بل ماذا أنجز؟ وما القيمة التي أضافها؟ فالمستقبل اليوم قصته قصة أثر وإنجاز.
ختامًا.. هناك تغريدة لمعالي المستشار تركي آل الشيخ يقول فيها إن حكمته في الحياة أن يكون لاعبًا لا حكمًا؛ لأن الحكم يبحث عن الأخطاء، بينما اللاعب يسعى إلى تحقيق الأهداف. وهذه بالضبط هي قصة الدوام المرن: تحقيق الأهداف في الإنجاز من جهة، ودعم جودة الحياة للموظفين من جهة أخرى، بعيدًا عن زحمة الدائري الثالث!
There are small things, often invisible in the details of our day, that we do not notice their impact until they change. Among them is that hurried morning, the time wasted between the third and fourth ring roads, and the traffic lights crowded with the striking and calm colors of cars, as well as the daily commitments that make many feel like they are running all day with a dimmed passion, without finding enough space for themselves or their families.
With the transformations we are witnessing today in work environments, success is no longer tied to the number of hours we spend behind desks, but rather to what we achieve in terms of results, impact, quality of performance, and creativity. Here lies the importance of flexible working hours as one of the modern models that reflects a deeper understanding of human needs and the demands of life, which have become faster than the blink of an eye.
Flexible working does not mean reducing working hours or being lax in achievement, as some may think. Rather, it means giving employees more space to manage their time more efficiently, benefiting the work interest on one hand, and enhancing their quality of life on the other. When a person feels that their day is more balanced, and that they can fulfill their professional responsibilities without sacrificing their family, health, or personal life, this directly reflects on their level of satisfaction, productivity, and psychological stability.
Perhaps the biggest beneficiaries of this model are families. I also believe it is important that this experience does not remain confined to Riyadh or a limited number of entities, but rather extends to various regions, cities, and governorates of the Kingdom, and includes both the public and private sectors equally. The benefits of flexible working are not limited to one city or sector; rather, it is an opportunity to improve the quality of life for millions of workers and their families across the nation.
I also think it is time to reconsider how we measure work success; the most important question is no longer: How many hours did the employee spend at their desk? But rather, what did they accomplish? What value did they add? Today, the future is a story of impact and achievement.
In conclusion, there is a tweet from His Excellency Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh, in which he says that his wisdom in life is to be a player, not a referee; because a referee looks for mistakes, while a player strives to achieve goals. And this is exactly the story of flexible working: achieving goals in performance on one hand, and supporting the quality of life for employees on the other, away from the congestion of the third ring road!
