من منا لا يعرف الرمز الرياضي الأمير تركي العبدالله الفيصل -أمدّ الله في عمره ومتعه بالصحة والعافية- أحد أبناء رائد الحركة الرياضية السعودية الأمير عبدالله الفيصل -يرحمه الله- ومن الذين عاصروا والده وعايشوا مرحلة مهمة من تلك البدايات التاريخية.
-فهو قامة رياضية كبيرة يُشار إليها بالبنان، عُرف بجرأته في قول الحق، وصراحته وصدقه، ويستمتع المتابع بالإنصات إليه عندما يتحدث عبر وسائل الإعلام المرئية أو من خلال تصريحاته الصحفية التي تظهر في مناسبات مختلفة، فيضع النقاط على الحروف في قضايا تاريخية ورياضية، أو فيما يخص النادي الأهلي الذي يُعد أحد أبرز رموزه الشرفيين، ويحظى بمكانة خاصة لدى جماهيره ومحبيه. كما أن حضوره في المراحل الحساسة يبعث برسائل تطمينية تسهم في الحفاظ على مكانة الكيان الأهلاوي وتماسكه بعيداً عن الخلافات والانقسامات.
-اطلعت على الحوار الصحفي الذي أجراه معه الزميل أحمد الشمراني، والمنشور أمس في هذه الصحيفة، وكنت أتطلع إلى أن «يستثمر» أبو محمد هذه الفرصة الذهبية التي أتيحت له للخروج بحوار أكثر ثراءً وفائدة، يتناول القضية التي شغلت الوسط الرياضي أخيراً إثر ما طرحه محمد القدادي من معلومات مرتبطة بتاريخ الرياضة السعودية ورجالاتها، وفي مقدمتهم الأمير عبدالله الفيصل -رحمه الله.
-وقد أثارت تلك الأطروحات جدلاً واسعاً في الشارع الرياضي وعلى منصة «إكس»، خصوصاً أن كثيراً من المهتمين بالتاريخ الرياضي رأوا أنها تضمّنت معلومات غير دقيقة وتناقضات واضحة، الأمر الذي استدعى ردود فعل قوية من مؤرخين وإعلاميين عاصروا تلك المرحلة وكانوا شهوداً على أحداثها.
-أتفهم أن يفوت على صحفي مبتدئ التطرق إلى مثل هذه القضايا من باب قلة الخبرة، لكن من الصعب تقبّل ذلك من صحفي يمتلك تجربة طويلة في بلاط الصحافة. تتاح له فرصة محاورة شخصية بحجم الأمير تركي العبدالله، يفشل في أن «يستغل» حواره معه لطرح الأسئلة البديهية التي فرضها الجدل القائم، وأن يستوضح منه حقيقة ما أثير وما تبعه من ردود أفعال دفاعاً عن التاريخ ورموزه.
-أعجبني موقف الزميل صالح العمودي، الذي أعلن اعتزاله العمل الصحفي، لكنه وجد نفسه مدفوعاً للعودة والرد على ما اعتبره مغالطات تاريخية، مستنداً إلى معلومات سبق أن وثّقها الأمير عبدالله الفيصل -رحمه الله- ضمن كتاب أُعدّ عن سيرته الشخصية والرياضية، وتناول العديد من المحطات التاريخية المهمة، ومن بينها قضية قرار إلغاء حل نادي الاتحاد.
-أعرف حكمة الأمير تركي العبدالله، وما يتمتع به من دماثة خلق وحرص على الابتعاد عن المهاترات الشخصية التي لا طائل منها، كما أنه لا يميل إلى الإساءة لأحد. ومع ذلك، كان بإمكان الزميل أحمد الشمراني أن يستثمر هذه الفرصة لمعرفة الحقيقة بصورة أوضح، بدلاً من الاكتفاء بتصريح عام لم يتناول جوهر القضية المثارة، ولم يحدد مكمن الإساءة أو مصدرها بصورة مباشرة.
-ومع ذلك، فإنني أتفق «قلباً وقالباً» مع ما ذهب إليه سموه الكريم من ضرورة وضع حد حازم لكل من يحاول العبث بتاريخنا الرياضي أو الإساءة إلى رموزه وقاماته بأي شكل من الأشكال، وأؤيد مطالبته للجهات المعنية بالقيام بدورها في حماية الإرث الرياضي الوطني وصون حقائقه من الاجتهادات غير الموثقة أو الروايات التي تفتقر إلى الدقة التاريخية.
Who among us does not know the sports icon Prince Turki Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal – may God prolong his life and grant him health and wellness – one of the sons of the pioneer of the Saudi sports movement, Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal – may God have mercy on him – and one who witnessed his father’s era and experienced an important phase of those historical beginnings.
– He is a significant sports figure recognized for his courage in speaking the truth, his frankness, and his honesty. Followers enjoy listening to him when he speaks through visual media or in his press statements that appear on various occasions, as he clarifies historical and sports issues, or regarding Al-Ahli Club, which is considered one of its most prominent honorary symbols and holds a special place among its fans and admirers. His presence in sensitive stages sends reassuring messages that contribute to maintaining the status and cohesion of the Al-Ahli entity, away from disputes and divisions.
– I reviewed the interview conducted with him by my colleague Ahmed Al-Shamrani, published yesterday in this newspaper, and I was looking forward to seeing “Abu Mohammed” take advantage of this golden opportunity to produce a richer and more beneficial dialogue, addressing the issue that has occupied the sports community recently following what Mohammed Al-Qadadi presented regarding the history of Saudi sports and its figures, foremost among them Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal – may God have mercy on him.
– These propositions sparked widespread debate in the sports community and on the “X” platform, especially since many interested in sports history saw that they contained inaccurate information and clear contradictions, which prompted strong reactions from historians and journalists who witnessed that era and were witnesses to its events.
– I understand that a novice journalist might overlook such issues due to inexperience, but it is difficult to accept this from a journalist with extensive experience in the realm of journalism. When given the opportunity to interview a figure as significant as Prince Turki Al-Abdullah, it is disappointing that he fails to “exploit” the interview to ask the fundamental questions raised by the ongoing debate and to clarify the truth of what was brought up and the subsequent reactions in defense of history and its symbols.
– I admired the stance of my colleague Saleh Al-Amoudi, who announced his retirement from journalism but found himself compelled to return and respond to what he considered historical inaccuracies, relying on information previously documented by Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal – may God have mercy on him – in a book prepared about his personal and sports biography, which addressed many important historical milestones, including the issue of the decision to dissolve Al-Ittihad Club.
– I know the wisdom of Prince Turki Al-Abdullah, and what he possesses in terms of good manners and a desire to avoid personal squabbles that lead nowhere, as he does not tend to insult anyone. Nevertheless, my colleague Ahmed Al-Shamrani could have utilized this opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the truth, rather than settling for a general statement that did not address the essence of the raised issue and did not directly identify the source or nature of the insult.
– Nonetheless, I wholeheartedly agree with what His Highness stated regarding the necessity of putting a firm limit on anyone who attempts to tamper with our sports history or insult its symbols and figures in any way. I support his call for the relevant authorities to fulfill their role in protecting the national sports heritage and preserving its facts from unverified interpretations or narratives that lack historical accuracy.
