The German coach Thomas Leitch, of the youth team, confirmed his team’s readiness to face Al-Taawoun tomorrow in the Saudi Pro League, pointing out that the international break contributed to preparing the players and improving their fitness levels, affirming the team’s ambition to achieve victory.
Leitch said in the press conference preceding the match: “It is true that the break was long, but we took advantage of it in training and preparation during the camp, and we trained in two sessions to prepare all the players physically. We also enjoyed the matches of the Saudi national team, and from this platform, I congratulate the national team on winning the Gulf Cup.”
He added: “We missed the matches, and tomorrow we will play our first match against Al-Taawoun, which is not an easy encounter, as Al-Taawoun is a strong opponent, and both teams need the points from this match.”
The youth coach spoke about the players of his team who won individual awards in the Gulf Cup, saying: “I am happy to have players who received individual awards in the Gulf Cup with the youth team, especially Hamam Al-Hamami, who crowned his efforts by winning the Gulf Cup, as well as Adel Abbas, who is a distinguished player and a young talent, and I am happy to have them with the team during this period.”
Regarding the difficulty of facing Al-Taawoun after their coach’s change, Leitch clarified: “Al-Taawoun has changed its coach, and in this case, it is difficult to know their playing style in tomorrow’s match, but we are ready for the encounter. In general, playing seven matches without achieving a win is a challenge for us, and we look forward to achieving victory.”
He concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the break in preparing the players, saying: “The break allowed us the opportunity to work on preparing some players, and it will become clear during today’s training how ready some of them are. In general, having options available to the coach, whether from foreign or local players, is a positive thing and gives the coaching staff more choices.”
