The Education and Training Evaluation Commission has begun conducting field visits in various regions of Saudi Arabia to complete the external evaluation of public education schools for boys and girls at all three stages, through visits by an independent, trained, and licensed evaluation team.
The team undertakes various administrative and educational tasks, such as reviewing the operational plans prepared for the schools, the self-evaluation conducted over the past two years, improvement plans in light of the self-evaluation results, meeting records, enrichment activity plans, gifted students’ files, participation in national and international competitions, community engagement, and volunteer work by administrative and educational staff, as well as maintenance, cleanliness, school security and safety, and attending a number of daily lessons in various subjects and the morning assembly.
The external evaluation work includes reviewing academic achievement files, health guidance files, student activity files, daily absenteeism rates for students through the Noor electronic system, professional growth records for teachers, professional licenses, learning outcomes, and health certificates for staff working in school cafeterias.
The external evaluation process is a diagnostic one that involves systematically and continuously collecting information about school performance, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement in their performance, and making judgments about their developmental efforts in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability, based on the evaluation and school excellence standards approved by the commission.
This is considered one of the most important processes for improving education, a foundation for educational development, and an entry point for enhancing public education in all its elements and levels. It gains this importance as it diagnoses the reality of performance through its inputs, processes, and outputs; and because it adds value to schools by spreading a culture of self-evaluation among them.
The evaluation of the performance of public, private, and international education schools is based on the evaluation and accreditation standards approved by the commission, through visits by an independent, trained, and licensed evaluation team.
It is expected that its operations will provide reliable data regarding the strengths and weaknesses in school performance, which can be used by decision-makers to develop public education in the Kingdom.
