تحوّل خط السكك الحديدية فائق السرعة في إسبانيا إلى مسرح لمأساة كبيرة، بعدما أسفر تصادم قطارين قرب منطقة توليدو عن سقوط 46 قتيلاً في حصيلة أولية هزّت البلاد.
ووقع الحادث صباح الأربعاء عندما اصطدم قطار فائق السرعة بآخر كان يسير أمامه في الاتجاه نفسه، ما أدى إلى خروج عربتين عن القضبان وتسبب في خسائر بشرية كبيرة.
وعلى إثر الحادث، أعلنت الشركة المشغلة لشبكة السكك الحديدية الإسبانية تعليق حركة القطارات على الخط الرابط بين مدريد وسيوداد ريال وإقليم الأندلس، فيما هرعت فرق الطوارئ إلى الموقع للتعامل مع تداعيات الحادث وتقديم المساعدة للمصابين.
وأعرب رئيس الحكومة الإسبانية بيدرو سانشيز عن حزنه العميق إزاء الكارثة، مؤكداً متابعته المستمرة لتطورات الوضع وتنسيقه مع الجهات المعنية وفرق الإنقاذ العاملة في الميدان.
وخيمت أجواء من الحزن على إسبانيا مع استمرار عمليات الاستجابة والتحقيق في ملابسات الحادث، وسط ترقب لمعرفة أسبابه والوقوف على تفاصيل واحدة من أشد حوادث القطارات إيلاماً في البلاد.
The high-speed railway line in Spain has turned into a stage for a major tragedy, after a collision between two trains near the Toledo area resulted in 46 fatalities in a preliminary toll that shook the country.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning when a high-speed train collided with another train that was traveling in the same direction in front of it, leading to two carriages derailing and causing significant human losses.
Following the incident, the company operating the Spanish railway network announced the suspension of train services on the line connecting Madrid to Ciudad Real and the Andalusia region, while emergency teams rushed to the site to deal with the aftermath of the accident and provide assistance to the injured.
The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed his deep sorrow over the disaster, confirming his continuous monitoring of the situation’s developments and his coordination with the relevant authorities and rescue teams working on the ground.
