بحضور المستشار تركي بن عبدالمحسن آل الشيخ، رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة للترفيه (GEA)، ورئيس الاتحاد السعودي للملاكمة، توّج الملاكم المكسيكي ساول “كانيلو” ألفاريز بلقب المجلس العالمي للملاكمة (WBC) لوزن فوق المتوسط، بعد تغلبه على نظيره الفرنسي كريستيان مبلي بقرار الحكام بالإجماع، في النزال الرئيسي لأمسية “المكسيك ضد العالم”، التي احتضنتها حلبة “The Venue” بالعاصمة الرياض، ضمن فعاليات موسم الرياض، وسط حضور جماهيري كبيراً تابع تسع مواجهات جمعت ملاكمين من مختلف دول العالم.
وجاء فوز كانيلو بعد مواجهة امتدت إلى 12 جولة، حسمها بقرار الحكام الثلاثة الذين منحوه الفوز بنتائج (115-112) و(116-111) و(117-110)، ليضيف لقباً عالمياً جديداً إلى مسيرته الاحترافية، في أمسية تزامنت مع مرور 21 عاماً على انطلاق مشواره في عالم الملاكمة، ليحتفل بهذه المناسبة التاريخية بانتصار جديد على أرض الرياض.

وفي النزال السابع، حافظ المكسيكي رافائيل إسبينوزا على لقب منظمة الملاكمة العالمية (WBO) لوزن الريشة، بعدما حسم مواجهته أمام النيكاراغوي ريكاردو بلاندون بالضربة القاضية الفنية، بعد مرور 22 ثانية فقط من بداية الجولة الثالثة، ليواصل احتفاظه بالحزام العالمي.
انتصارات آسيوية في مواجهات حافلة بالمنافسة
وشهد النزال السادس تفوق الملاكم الياباني ريتو تسوتسومي على نظيره المكسيكي رايموندو روخاس غارسيا بالضربة القاضية الفنية في الجولة الثانية، فيما حمل النزال الخامس إحدى أبرز نتائج الأمسية، بعدما تمكن الفلبيني كارل مارتن من انتزاع لقب المجلس العالمي للملاكمة (WBC) الفضي لوزن الريشة، إثر فوزه على المكسيكي ديفيد بيكاسو بقرار الحكام المنقسم، عقب مواجهة امتدت لعشر جولات، حصل خلالها مارتن على تأييد حكمين بنتيجتي (95-94) و(96-93)، مقابل حكم منح الأفضلية لبيكاسو بنتيجة (95-94).
سلطان المحمد يسجل انتصاراً سعودياً على المكسيك
وسجل الملاكم السعودي سلطان المحمد انتصاراً في النزال الرابع، بعدما تغلب على المكسيكي إريك فيليغاس بقرار الحكام بالإجماع، عقب ست جولات، في مواجهة أضافت حضوراً سعودياً إلى قائمة الفائزين في الأمسية.
ضربة قاضية لنورماغانبيت وتدخل طبي لإسعاف فاسكيز
وفي واحدة من أكثر لحظات الأمسية إثارة للقلق، حقق الملاكم الكازاخستاني بيك نورماغانبيت فوزاً بالضربة القاضية على نظيره المكسيكي ماركوس فاسكيز، بعد دقيقتين و57 ثانية من الجولة الأولى، إثر سلسلة من اللكمات القوية التي أسقطت منافسه أرضاً، ليرتطم رأسه بأرضية الحلبة ويبقى ممدداً حتى أثناء إعلان النتيجة، وسط تدخل الطاقم الطبي لإسعافه والاطمئنان على حالته، فيما واصل نورماغانبيت سجله الاحترافي الخالي من الهزائم.
وكان المكسيكي كارلوس روخو قد حسم النزال الثاني أمام الروماني فلافيوس بيا بالضربة القاضية الفنية في الجولة الرابعة، فيما افتتح الكوبي برايان ليون مواجهات الأمسية بفوزه على المكسيكي هيكتور آغيري بقرار الحكام بالإجماع.

Canelo’s victory came after a match that extended to 12 rounds, which he secured by the decision of the three judges who awarded him the win with scores of (115-112), (116-111), and (117-110), adding a new world title to his professional career, on an evening that coincided with the 21st anniversary of the start of his journey in the world of boxing, celebrating this historic occasion with a new victory on Riyadh’s soil.
12 rounds of excitement end with Canelo’s crowning
Prior to the main event, the Saudi national anthem was played, amidst a thrilling atmosphere in the ring, before the highly anticipated match between Canelo and Mbili began, which witnessed strong competition and a variety of technical styles, between the French boxer’s offensive rush and the defensive experience and counterpunching that characterized the Mexican star.
Canelo started the match with a balanced performance, relying on the accuracy of his counterpunches and defensive movement, before Mbili imposed offensive pressure during the following rounds, cornering his opponent against the ropes on several occasions and directing a series of punches to the body and head, while Canelo displayed remarkable skill in avoiding and blocking punches, even deliberately inviting his opponent to continue attacking at times, in an attempt to lure him into opening gaps in his defenses.
As the rounds progressed, Canelo began to regain control, especially during the fifth and sixth rounds, after successfully landing more precise and powerful punches, including upward punches with his right hand and straight punches, taking advantage of his ability to read Mbili’s movements and respond to his offensive rush.
The seventh round witnessed a clear shift in the rhythm of the match, as Canelo became more mobile and confident, relying on jabs and counterpunches, while the effectiveness of Mbili’s attacks gradually declined, allowing the Mexican boxer to continue imposing his style in the following rounds, benefiting from his experience in managing the fight and maintaining his physical fitness.
In the ninth and tenth rounds, Canelo succeeded in limiting the danger of his opponent’s attacks, beginning to push him back after Mbili had been the more aggressive fighter at the start of the match, while the exchange of punches continued during the eleventh round, before the twelfth and final round witnessed thrilling moments, as Mbili landed two strong punches with his right hand, to which Canelo responded by advancing to the center of the ring and striking his chest, challenging his opponent to continue attacking, in a scene that concluded an exciting match that lasted until the final bell.

Saudi Sultan Al-Mohammad records a victory over Mexico
Saudi boxer Sultan Al-Mohammad recorded a victory in the fourth bout after defeating Mexican Eric Villegas by unanimous decision after six rounds, in a match that added a Saudi presence to the list of winners of the evening.
A knockout for Normagambet and medical intervention for Vasquez
In one of the most concerning moments of the evening, Kazakh boxer Bek Normagambet achieved a knockout victory over Mexican Marcos Vasquez after two minutes and 57 seconds of the first round, following a series of powerful punches that knocked his opponent to the ground, causing his head to hit the canvas and leaving him lying down even during the announcement of the result, as medical staff intervened to assist him and check on his condition, while Normagambet continued his unbeaten professional record.
Mexican Carlos Rojo had secured a victory in the second bout against Romanian Flavius Piya by technical knockout in the fourth round, while Cuban Brian Leon opened the evening’s matches with a unanimous decision victory over Mexican Hector Aguirre.
