The military confrontations between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthi militia have escalated in the Marib and Al-Jawf governorates, with battles continuing for the second consecutive day and the clashes extending to new fronts, amidst intensive use of artillery, rocket launchers, and warplanes, in developments that reflect the widening scope of military operations in the northern part of the country.
The Yemeni armed forces announced the continuation of confrontations on the northern front in Marib, indicating that direct clashes erupted along the contact lines, coinciding with the Houthis sending military reinforcements to the confrontation sites. The media center of the armed forces confirmed that the government forces dealt with the sources of fire and targeted the reinforcements, inflicting human and material losses on the militia. It reported that warplanes carried out five airstrikes targeting Houthi military gatherings and vehicles, resulting in the destruction and damage of several pieces of equipment, as well as casualties, without announcing a specific toll.
In a field development, the Wadi Halhalan in Marib witnessed fierce battles, and a military media official announced that government forces repelled Houthi attacks targeting military sites, in an attempt to regain positions lost by the militia in the past hours, confirming the capture of dozens of Houthi militants during the confrontations.
The clashes extended to Al-Jawf governorate, particularly the fronts located southeast of the city of Al-Hazm, and field sources confirmed the thwarting of a Houthi attempt to advance on military sites in the Al-Duhaydah mountains, following an attack with five consecutive combat waves, during which the militia sustained losses.
These developments come amid an escalation of military operations across multiple fronts, as government forces announced progress in areas of the Taiz and Lahij governorates, regaining positions and villages in the Dhubrah front, coinciding with the ongoing confrontations in other fronts.
The Houthi militia continues its hostile attempts by targeting sacred places, civilian facilities, and civilians in Saudi Arabia. The Coalition to Support Legitimacy revealed the interception and destruction of a Houthi drone heading towards Riyadh. The official spokesman for the coalition forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that a drone was intercepted and destroyed in the Makkah region. The coalition also revealed that air defense intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Najran, with debris falling as a result of the interception, and damage assessment is ongoing.
