أكد نائب وزير الخارجية المهندس وليد بن عبدالكريم الخريجي أهمية احتواء الأزمات وترسيخ مقومات الأمن والاستقرار، في ظل ما تشهده المنطقة من مرحلة دقيقة، واتساع دوائر الصراع خلال الأعوام الماضية، وما نتج عنها من تفاقم المعاناة الإنسانية وتداعيات على أمن الملاحة وإمدادات الطاقة والاقتصاد العالمي.
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركته اليوم (السبت )، في جلسة «تداعيات الصراع الإقليمي التحويلي»، ضمن مؤتمر حوار المنامة 2026 في نسخته الثانية والعشرين، المنعقد في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، إذ شدد على أهمية حماية الدول والشعوب، والعمل على تسويات تعالج أسباب النزاعات وتمنع تجددها.
وأوضح الخريجي أن سياسة المملكة تنطلق من قناعة راسخة بأن أمنها يرتبط باستقرار محيطها الإقليمي، وأن تحقيق التنمية والازدهار يتطلب سلاماً مستداماً، مشيراً إلى أن المملكة تجمع بين تعزيز قدراتها على حماية أمنها وسيادتها وفق القانون الدولي، وتكثيف جهودها الدبلوماسية لمعالجة الأزمات، استناداً إلى احترام سيادة الدول وحسن الجوار وعدم التدخل في شؤونها الداخلية.
وقال إن المملكة تواصل جهودها الدبلوماسية، بالتنسيق مع الأشقاء والشركاء، لخفض التصعيد وتسوية الخلافات بالوسائل السلمية، بما يحفظ أمن المنطقة واستقرارها.
وأكد مواصلة دعم المملكة للحكومة الشرعية في اليمن والجهود الرامية إلى التوصل إلى تسوية سياسية شاملة تحفظ وحدة اليمن وأمنه، معرباً عن إدانة المملكة استمرار تصعيد المليشيات الحوثية الإرهابية ضد اليمن وشعبه وضد المملكة، لا سيما استهداف الأعيان المدنية وتهديد أمن الملاحة، وسعيها إلى تقويض جهود التهدئة والمساعي الدبلوماسية الرامية إلى تسوية الأزمة اليمنية، وتوسيع دائرة الصراع وإفشال فرص استعادة الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي.
ولفت إلى أن التحديات التي تمر بها المنطقة تؤكد أهمية تعزيز قدرة الدول على الصمود أمام الأزمات، مبيناً أن المملكة تعمل على تطوير قدراتها الدفاعية، وحماية بنيتها التحتية ومنشآتها الحيوية، وتعزيز أمنها السيبراني واستمرارية خدماتها الأساسية، إلى جانب توثيق التنسيق الخليجي وتوسيع شراكاتها الدفاعية.
واختتم الخريجي بالتأكيد أن المملكة، بتوجيهات قيادتها، تعمل مع الأشقاء والشركاء لترسيخ أمناً إقليمياً يقوم على دول مستقرة وتسويات سياسية عادلة، بما يكفل لشعوب المنطقة حقها في الأمن والتنمية والازدهار.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Walid bin Abdulkarim Al-Khreeji, emphasized the importance of containing crises and establishing the foundations of security and stability, in light of the delicate phase the region is experiencing, the expansion of conflict circles over the past years, and the resulting exacerbation of humanitarian suffering and repercussions on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
This came during his participation today (Saturday) in the session titled “Repercussions of Transformational Regional Conflict,” as part of the 2026 Manama Dialogue Conference in its twenty-second edition, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama. He stressed the importance of protecting states and peoples and working towards settlements that address the root causes of conflicts and prevent their recurrence.
Al-Khreeji explained that the Kingdom’s policy is based on a firm belief that its security is linked to the stability of its regional surroundings, and that achieving development and prosperity requires sustainable peace. He pointed out that the Kingdom combines enhancing its capabilities to protect its security and sovereignty in accordance with international law, while intensifying its diplomatic efforts to address crises, based on respect for the sovereignty of states, good neighborliness, and non-interference in their internal affairs.
He stated that the Kingdom continues its diplomatic efforts, in coordination with its brothers and partners, to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through peaceful means, in order to preserve the security and stability of the region.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for the legitimate government in Yemen and the efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Yemen’s unity and security, expressing the Kingdom’s condemnation of the ongoing escalation by the terrorist Houthi militias against Yemen and its people and against the Kingdom, especially targeting civilian objects and threatening maritime security, as well as their attempts to undermine de-escalation efforts and diplomatic endeavors aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis, expanding the conflict, and thwarting opportunities to restore regional security and stability.
He pointed out that the challenges facing the region highlight the importance of enhancing the ability of states to withstand crises, indicating that the Kingdom is working on developing its defensive capabilities, protecting its infrastructure and vital facilities, enhancing its cybersecurity, and ensuring the continuity of its essential services, in addition to strengthening Gulf coordination and expanding its defense partnerships.
Al-Khreeji concluded by affirming that the Kingdom, under the guidance of its leadership, is working with its brothers and partners to establish regional security based on stable states and fair political settlements, ensuring that the peoples of the region have their rights to security, development, and prosperity.
