يواصل المنتخب السنغالي حضوره في كأس العالم من خلال مشاركته في مونديال 2026، مسجلاً حضوره الرابع في تاريخ البطولة العالمية، بعد مشاركاته في نسخ 2002، و2018، و2022.
ويحمل المنتخب السنغالي سجلاً لافتاً في مشاركاته المونديالية، إذ حقق أفضل إنجاز له في ظهوره الأول بنهائيات كأس العالم 2002 التي أقيمت في كوريا الجنوبية واليابان، بعدما بلغ الدور ربع النهائي، في إنجاز عادل حينها أفضل مشاركة لمنتخب أفريقي في تاريخ البطولة.
وشهدت آخر مشاركات «أسود التيرانغا» في مونديال قطر 2022 وصول المنتخب إلى دور الـ16، قبل أن تنتهي رحلته بخسارة أمام المنتخب الإنجليزي.
ويدخل المنتخب السنغالي النسخة القادمة من البطولة بطموحات مواصلة حضوره التنافسي، مستفيداً من الخبرات المتراكمة في مشاركاته السابقة، والسعي لتكرار أو تجاوز إنجازه التاريخي الذي تحقق في نسخة 2002.
