أكدت وزارة الطاقة والبنية التحتية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة استمرار التنسيق المشترك مع وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة، والهيئة الوطنية لإدارة الطوارئ والأزمات والكوارث، والجهات الاتحادية والمحلية المختصة لمتابعة أعمال تأمين ناقلة النفط GEM NO.2، إثر تعرضها لحادث في المياه الإقليمية للدولة، واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة للحد من المخاطر المرتبطة بها، وضمان سلامة الملاحة البحرية.
ووفق وكالة الأنباء الإماراتية (وام)، أوضحت الوزارة أن الفرق الفنية المختصة تواصل أعمال المعالجة الفنية للناقلة، التي شملت إصلاح الأجزاء المتضررة، واستعادة بعض الأنظمة التشغيلية، إضافة إلى تقييم سلامة هيكلها لتحديد الخيارات الأنسب للتعامل معها بصورة آمنة.
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أنه وفقا لآخر التقييمات الميدانية، لم يرصد أي تسرب نفطي جديد من الناقلة، في حين تتواصل أعمال الرصد والمراقبة البحرية والجوية، والاستعانة بصور الأقمار الصناعية لمتابعة الوضع عن كثب ورصد أي مستجدات.
من جهتها، أكدت وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة الإماراتية أن فرقها الفنية تواصل التعامل مع التلوث البحري الناجم عن التسرب النفطي، بالتنسيق المستمر مع الجهات المعنية اتحاديا ومحليا، حيث تجري عمليات المسح والرصد والتنظيف الميداني في المناطق الساحلية التي امتد إليها التلوث، مشددة على أن سلامة المجتمع تأتي في مقدمة الأولويات.
وأضافت الوزارة أنه، حسب أحدث صور الرصد بالأقمار الاصطناعية حتى يوم الجمعة 30 أكتوبر 2026، تتركز البقعة النفطية قبالة سواحل أم القيوين، لتمتد جزئيا نحو مناطق ساحلية في رأس الخيمة وعجمان والشارقة.
وأكدت أن كثافة التلوث المرصود تشهد تراجعا ملحوظا، مع استمرار أعمال احتواء ومعالجة آثار التسرب الذي جرى إيقافه من مصدره.
وأوضحت وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة أن جهود احتواء التلوث ومعالجته تعتمد بشكل رئيسي على وسائل المكافحة الميكانيكية، إلى جانب استخدام المشتتات الكيميائية وفق المعايير الدولية والإرشادات الفنية المعتمدة، وبالتنسيق مع الجهات ذات الصلة.
وشددت الوزارة على أن إغلاق عدد من الشواطئ والمناطق الساحلية مؤقتا يعد إجراء احترازيا، موضحة أن ذلك لا يعني بالضرورة رصد تلوث في جميع المواقع المشمولة بالإغلاق، وإنما يأتي حرصا على سلامة المجتمع والبيئة البحرية، وإتاحة المجال لاستكمال أعمال المسح والمعالجة.
وأكدت الوزارة سلامة الأسماك والمواد الغذائية المتوفرة في الأسواق وصلاحيتها للاستهلاك البشري، مشيرة إلى كفاءة منظومة الأمن الغذائي في الدولة في ضمان سلامة الغذاء.
وتواصل الجهات المختصة أيضا رصد جودة الهواء، وتقييم القراءات، ومتابعة المستجدات بالتنسيق المشترك، ودعت الجمهور الكريم إلى الالتزام التام بتعليمات الجهات المعنية بشأن الشواطئ والمناطق الساحلية الخاضعة للإجراءات الاحترازية.
في السياق ذاته، أكدت «الاتحاد للماء والكهرباء» أن سلامة مياه الشرب وجودتها تمثلان أولوية قصوى، وأنه تم اتخاذ التدابير الاستباقية لتعزيز سلامة منظومة إنتاج المياه، التي تشمل متابعة جودة مياه البحر عند المآخذ، وفحص المياه المنتجة والموزعة، والتحقق من مطابقتها للاشتراطات المعتمدة قبل ضخها إلى الشبكة، مشيرة إلى أن هذه الإجراءات الاحترازية لن تؤثر على إمدادات المياه للمستفيدين منها.
وثمنت وزارة الطاقة والبنية التحتية، ووزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة، والهيئة الوطنية لإدارة الطوارئ والأزمات والكوارث، الجهود المتكاملة التي تبذلها الجهات المعنية والفرق الوطنية المختصة، والتي أسفرت عن تأمين الناقلة والسيطرة على مصادر التسرب النفطي، بالتوازي مع تنفيذ عمليات احتواء التلوث، والحد من انتشاره، ومعالجة آثاره البيئية.
وأكدت الجهات استمرار العمل الميداني والتنسيق الوطني المشترك، وتسخير الإمكانات والموارد كافة لضمان أمن الملاحة البحرية وحماية البيئة البحرية والساحلية، مع مواصلة إحاطة الجمهور بالمستجدات أولا بأول عبر القنوات الرسمية المعتمدة.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates confirmed the ongoing joint coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and the relevant federal and local authorities to monitor the security operations of the oil tanker GEM NO.2, following its incident in the territorial waters of the state, and to take necessary measures to mitigate the associated risks and ensure maritime safety.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the ministry clarified that specialized technical teams continue their technical remediation efforts for the tanker, which included repairing damaged parts and restoring some operational systems, in addition to assessing the integrity of its structure to determine the most suitable options for safe handling.
The ministry indicated that according to the latest field assessments, no new oil leaks have been detected from the tanker, while marine and aerial monitoring activities continue, utilizing satellite imagery to closely follow the situation and monitor any developments.
For its part, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE confirmed that its technical teams continue to address the marine pollution resulting from the oil spill, in continuous coordination with the relevant federal and local authorities, as field surveys, monitoring, and cleaning operations are underway in the coastal areas affected by the pollution, emphasizing that community safety is a top priority.
The ministry added that, according to the latest satellite monitoring images as of Friday, October 30, 2026, the oil slick is concentrated off the coast of Umm Al-Quwain, partially extending towards coastal areas in Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, and Sharjah.
It confirmed that the density of the observed pollution is showing a noticeable decline, with ongoing containment and remediation efforts for the spill that has been halted at its source.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment clarified that the efforts to contain and address the pollution primarily rely on mechanical mitigation methods, along with the use of chemical dispersants in accordance with international standards and approved technical guidelines, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The ministry emphasized that the temporary closure of several beaches and coastal areas is a precautionary measure, clarifying that this does not necessarily mean that pollution has been detected in all the sites included in the closure, but rather comes out of concern for community and marine environmental safety, and to allow for the completion of survey and remediation efforts.
The ministry confirmed the safety of fish and food products available in the markets and their suitability for human consumption, pointing to the efficiency of the food security system in the country in ensuring food safety.
The relevant authorities also continue to monitor air quality, assess readings, and follow up on developments in joint coordination, urging the public to fully comply with the instructions of the relevant authorities regarding the beaches and coastal areas subject to precautionary measures.
In this context, the “Union Water and Electricity” confirmed that the safety and quality of drinking water are a top priority, and that proactive measures have been taken to enhance the safety of the water production system, which includes monitoring the quality of seawater at the intake points, testing the produced and distributed water, and verifying its compliance with the approved standards before pumping it into the network, noting that these precautionary measures will not affect water supplies for the beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority appreciated the integrated efforts made by the relevant authorities and specialized national teams, which resulted in securing the tanker and controlling the sources of the oil spill, alongside implementing pollution containment operations and limiting its spread, as well as addressing its environmental impacts.
The authorities confirmed the continuation of fieldwork and national joint coordination, utilizing all capabilities and resources to ensure maritime navigation safety and protect the marine and coastal environment, while continuing to keep the public informed of developments in real-time through the approved official channels.
