اتفقت مصر واليمن على رفض أي محاولات لتدويل أو عسكرة البحر الأحمر، مؤكدتين أن مسؤولية أمنه وحوكمته تقع على عاتق الدول المشاطئة له، وذلك خلال أعمال الدورة التاسعة للحوار الإستراتيجي اليمني ـ المصري، التي عُقدت اليوم (الأحد) في القاهرة، برئاسة رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين اليمني الدكتور شائع الزنداني، ونظيره المصري الدكتور بدر عبدالعاطي.
وشدد الجانبان على ضرورة تبني رؤية شاملة لأمن البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن، تراعي الجوانب الأمنية والتنموية والاقتصادية، مع أهمية تفعيل دور مجلس الدول العربية والأفريقية المطلة على البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن بما يعزز التعاون الإقليمي ويحفظ مصالح شعوب المنطقة.
وأكد الزنداني أن الحوار الإستراتيجي اليمني ـ المصري يجسد عمق العلاقات التاريخية بين البلدين، ويمثل محطة مهمة لتعزيز التنسيق والتشاور حيال القضايا الإقليمية. كما شدد على أن أمن مصر واستقرارها يمثلان ركناً أساسياً من الأمن القومي العربي، مجدداً دعم اليمن الكامل لكل ما يمس أمن القاهرة واستقرارها.
وأعرب الزنداني عن تقديره للدور السعودي في دعم اليمن وشرعيته الدستورية، مستعرضاً الأضرار التي لحقت بالاقتصاد المصري، خصوصاً إيرادات قناة السويس، نتيجة الهجمات التي تنفذها جماعة الحوثي ضد الملاحة الدولية في البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن وباب المندب.
وقال رئيس الوزراء اليمني إن جماعة الحوثي لا تهدد اليمن فقط، بل تمثل خطراً مباشراً على أمن المنطقة والممرات البحرية الدولية، ما يتطلب تعزيز التعاون الأمني بين البلدين ودعم الحكومة اليمنية لبسط سيطرتها على كامل الأراضي والسواحل اليمنية.
من جانبه، أكد عبدالعاطي أن انعقاد الحوار في هذا التوقيت يعكس حرص القاهرة وصنعاء على تنسيق المواقف تجاه أزمات المنطقة، مجدداً دعم مصر لوحدة اليمن وسلامة أراضيه، ومساندتها للحكومة اليمنية ومؤسسات الدولة الشرعية.
كما أعلن رفض مصر القاطع لأي مساعٍ لتدويل أو عسكرة البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن، أو إشراك أطراف غير مشاطئة في ترتيبات تخصه، مؤكداً أن أمن هذا الممر الملاحي الإستراتيجي مسؤولية حصرية للدول العربية والأفريقية المطلة عليه.
Egypt and Yemen agreed to reject any attempts to internationalize or militarize the Red Sea, affirming that the responsibility for its security and governance lies with the bordering countries. This was during the ninth session of the Yemeni-Egyptian strategic dialogue, which was held today (Sunday) in Cairo, chaired by the Yemeni Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaea Al-Zandani, and his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty.
The two sides emphasized the necessity of adopting a comprehensive vision for the security of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, taking into account security, developmental, and economic aspects, with the importance of activating the role of the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to enhance regional cooperation and safeguard the interests of the peoples of the region.
Al-Zandani affirmed that the Yemeni-Egyptian strategic dialogue embodies the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and represents an important station for enhancing coordination and consultation regarding regional issues. He also stressed that Egypt’s security and stability are a fundamental pillar of Arab national security, reiterating Yemen’s full support for anything that affects Cairo’s security and stability.
Al-Zandani expressed his appreciation for the Saudi role in supporting Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy, reviewing the damages inflicted on the Egyptian economy, particularly the revenues of the Suez Canal, as a result of the attacks carried out by the Houthi group against international navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and Bab el-Mandeb.
The Yemeni Prime Minister stated that the Houthi group does not only threaten Yemen but also poses a direct danger to the security of the region and international maritime routes, which necessitates strengthening security cooperation between the two countries and supporting the Yemeni government to assert its control over all Yemeni territories and coasts.
For his part, Abdel-Aty confirmed that holding the dialogue at this time reflects Cairo and Sana’a’s keenness to coordinate positions regarding the region’s crises, reiterating Egypt’s support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity, and its backing for the Yemeni government and legitimate state institutions.
He also announced Egypt’s firm rejection of any efforts to internationalize or militarize the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, or to involve non-bordering parties in arrangements concerning it, affirming that the security of this strategic maritime passage is the exclusive responsibility of the Arab and African countries bordering it.
