The Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, praised the Cabinet’s approval of the organizational arrangements for the Royal Institute for Anthropology and Cultural Studies. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for their unwavering support of the Saudi cultural sector, which has had a significant impact on a comprehensive cultural renaissance and local and international cultural movement.
This approval follows the Cabinet’s earlier decision to establish the institute in March of last year. The institute is dedicated to conducting specialized academic and applied research in anthropology and cultural studies, studying Saudi society in all its components by observing patterns of living, symbolic systems, social transformations, and forms of cultural expression, and analyzing them.
The institute represents a scientific resource for the cultural sector in the Kingdom by combining academic research with applied studies and contributing to building specialized knowledge about Saudi society and its cultural heritage, in line with the objectives of the National Culture Strategy, under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030.
