Following the decision to postpone the match between Al-Ittihad and Neom, which was scheduled for (Friday) at 8:30 PM at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the thirteenth round of the Roshen Saudi Professional League, coach Jens Wissing will work on addressing the technical errors that led to the team’s loss against Al-Ain of the UAE with a score of 1-4 in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs, and the earlier setback with a 1-1 draw against Abha in the twelfth round of the Roshen Saudi League, aiming to get the Al-Ittihad team back on the right track in the Asian championship.
The Al-Ittihad team has four matches remaining in the Western group of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs, the first against Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor on (Monday) November 23 at 9:15 PM at the Al-Naema Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, the second against UAE’s Al-Wasl on (Monday) December 7 at 7:00 PM at Zabeel Stadium (Dubai), the third against Qatar’s Al-Gharafa on (Monday) February 8 at 9:15 PM at the Al-Naema Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, and the fourth against Qatar’s Al-Sadd on (Monday) February 15 at 9:15 PM at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. Coach Wissing hopes to achieve victories in the remaining matches and collect points to qualify for the next round in the Asian championship.
On the local front, Coach Wissing aims to regain the winning rhythm in the Roshen Saudi Professional League and compete for the title, especially since Al-Ittihad is currently in fourth place with 24 points from 11 matches played, and has two postponed matches against Al-Shabab and Neom in Jeddah. In the King’s Cup, they will face Al-Jabalain in Hail in the Round of 16.
